On behalf of MadeMe, Erin Magee, and Market Gallery are pleased to invite you to Can you not, featuring the works of NYC-based artist and photographer, Mayan Toledano, that appear in MadeMe, a 240-page hardcover book recently published by Rizzoli International Publications. The images in Can you not, showcase the bond between Toledano and Magee that has deepened over the course of a decade as the pair has collaborated on a body of imagery that collectively push both brand and artist to their apex. In working with Magee, Toledano finds freedom and actualization, uninhibited by commercial restrictions, she has been able to create some of her most sincere work. In MadeMe, alongside beloved campaign’s past, the documenting of numerous collaborations and one-off images that reflect the brand’s innate sense of enduring girlhood, Toledano’s images evince her belief that telling stories is a human necessity; and the ability to do so, through honest images, is limitless. Can you not features three large prints and a handmade collage of photos published throughout the book including never before seen images. Market Gallery is proud to offer copies of MadeMe on-site at the opening on Friday, March 14th, both Magee and Toledano will be on hand to sign copies of the brand’s limited, special edition cover.
