It’s been a week since Out of Context was released into the world and we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response. To mark this joyous 7-day anniversary we’d like to take a moment to shine a light on the amazing video that accompanies this track. Huge thanks to @meterparcus for directing and making our vision come to life, @steinboon for filming and rolling around on dollies and @wardkoomen and @lcstater for all of your assistance, building an insane minitiature office (!!!) and making the day even more fun. Camy Huot
Camy joins our night programme on the night the clocks jump forward for daylight saving time, when we lose an hour, but the night somehow runs longer. Her sets move through minimal wave, synth punk, electro, EBM, darkwave and industrial, restless and cinematic, like the soundtrack to a late-night scene in Trainspotting. Through her radio shows and Wavecrash, she keeps those darker corners of the underground alive.
Library Card
Expressive yet thoughtful, abrasive yet melodious, explosive yet introvert: Rotterdam’s Library Card are a band of contrasts. A tight-knit unit of four entirely different characters, their dynamic is as layered as their sound. Formed in the summer of 2021, you can still feel a trace of that era’s agitation running through their music - restlessly shifting from angular post-punk to magnificent post-rock to fast-paced garage. In a city known for wayward guitar bands, Library Card quickly set themselves apart. And this one hits a little closer to home: bassist Kat used to work at Roodkapje, so being part of this feels full circle.
BRUTUS + Operator Radio
Our lovely new neighbours Brutus and our lovely former neighbours Operator Radio are back to host their signature RAW Afterparty, kicking off with Rosa B2B Jacquestrax, followed by Richard Akingbehin - all accessible with our combi ticket! You’ll also be able to visit the current exhibition at Brutus: AUTONOMOUS, curated by Ine Gevers, reframing neurodiverse thinking as a powerful form of resistance against capitalist, AI-driven systems of efficiency.
We’ve been a bit dormant on here, as we’ve been quite busy with the proverbial ‘big things coming’. Thought we’d show you that we are still very much alive, and in fact, kicking. LINE UP ALERT 🚨
We are so excited to share with you the who’s and the what’s of our housewarming party, inaugurating our new home at Keileweg 10A!
11 hours of nonstop programme spread throughout the whole building and 1 ticket to unlock it all, including our neighbour Brutus’ Rotterdam Art Week Afterparty 🤩
In the Café, bands like Min Taka, The Sweet Release of Death, Loveth Besamoh, M.U.G., and Library Card will bring the stage to life. In the LAB, performances can be seen by artists including SAMODIVA; sp3llxlocket, Lui Surreal, and soма (TREVOGA).
The new exhibition space of the anarchief will officially open with performances by Ratri Notosudirdjo and Rizqita Naherta. Happenings and interventions will appear throughout the building, and the risoprint studio will be open to the public.
We’ll close the night with dancing sets from Guenter Råler, Camy Huot, and DJ Shahmaran, ensuring the party continues until the early hours. We’ll also be ringing in spring that night, with clocks going forward an hour, welcoming more sun into our lives!
