One eye catches embellishments, and the other, clean lines — together, they build without waiting. For @rikkikher of @thisiskardo , jugaad became permission — one machine, one tailor, one pattern maker, and 24 hours to launch. “In Europe, people wait for the perfect environment. In India, we just go,” he shares. Meanwhile, @oliviadar goes straight for the shiny stuff — colour, bling, pattern. Their creative worlds overlap through constant exchange. “We talk about what books we’re reading, what art we’re seeing,” they note, “Otherwise you can feel quite lonely in your own practice.” They travel, collecting opposites, then weave both into one space. In their practice, messy meets tidy, maximalist textiles meet minimal clean lines, and two aesthetics find one home — very Delhi. Team @ashisnegi @noufals4lih @maleehaw29

“I first met Rikki Kher (@rikkikher ) in Paris, at Deeya, a concept store run by luxury fashion consultant Marielou Phillips and her husband, Matthieu Foss. Perhaps it was the fact that we were in another creative couple’s sacred space, but Kher animatedly talked about his wife, the jewellery designer Olivia Dar (@oliviadar ). By the time he mentioned her name, I realised the story I wanted to tell wasn’t just about KARDO (@thisiskardo ), his craft-rooted menswear label that now retails around the world, or its brand-new flagship in Delhi’s Lodhi Colony. It was about two creatives who have built parallel worlds under one roof and how those worlds continue to shape each other. Creative couples have long intrigued culture-watchers—from the Eameses sketching side by side to Georgia O’Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz shaping each other’s gaze. There’s a quiet choreography to such partnerships. Watching Kher and Dar, it’s clear they’ve found their rhythm.” At the link in bio, @kamathakanksha in conversation with the couple. Being unapologetically yourself isn’t about being overconfident. It’s about truly feeling connected to who you are. That connection should run so deep that you can experience moments as they are, without creating stories about what you think they should feel like. As a Jamaican, I was raised with a strong sense of pride, tradition, and community. My people have a deep connection to nature and the land, especially as farmers. When I was younger, I didn’t realize that my love for the land was something passed down from my ancestors. But I understand it now. thisiskardo shares that same appreciation for the land and the community that shapes their beautiful expressions through clothing. They believe that “Who Made It and Under What Conditions” should always be at the forefront of creation. When something is made with love, in environments that nurture positivity, the people who wear it can feel that whether they realize it or not. I felt it. That’s why I brought a collection of pieces from thisiskardo with me to Jamaica. 📸 @kirthbobb #menswearclothing #menswearblogger #menswearstyle #indianfashiondesigner #streetwearinspo

I knew @thisiskardo Rohit Hand Painted Shirt was coming along with me to @coachella I wanted to stand out, but feel comfortable at the same time. Kardo pieces have that effect. It’s the type of shirt that you don’t have to add to much around. It speaks for itself. Big shoutout to @rominandyusa for the 📸 Here’s some details on this shirt: This fabric is crafted by Srikanth Mishra, a generational hand block printer from Varanasi. Since 2022, he has been exploring the art of hand-painting on textiles. Here he creates delicate floral patterns with pigment colours on lightweight cotton. The piece is finished with intricate kantha hand-stitch detailing. #kardo #thisiskardo #indiantextile #indiandesigner #menswearblogger

Each piece is a work of art…literally. Srikanth Mishra, a traditional painter from Varanasi, has been painting textile art for over 24 years. Here, he creates floral artworks on cotton with azo free dyes, which are further worked on using hand kantha stitch, giving an added texture. Each 2 metre panel makes one unique shirt. We met Manik Chand Mahto, a traditional Sohrai mural artist from Jharkhand, last year. We invited him to work with us on textile, and the result reflects the volume of his skill, the beauty of Sohrai and his culture. Scenes of animals and the everyday come to life with his skillful hand. Creative direction @sarthak.saxena @lehar_chaudhary Visuals @agammya_khurana Cast @davianaahluwalia @chetanakash7
