Last week the good people at FCMB and BHM called me to come speak to a room full of seasoned journalists about how they can merge their storytelling and career principles with the current climate of social media and relevance. I had a great time. In fact I was on the panel with journalists I admire like @fixayosoyombo . Because of the work we do at @thisisjoyinc I was asked about social good and its monetization. I ate it up. It’s truly at the foundation of what we do. We all need to move with the times so that we are not extinct and our message doesn’t get lost. There is room in the space for everyone.

The Nigerian High Commission in Johannesburg, South Africa heard I was in town for the ‘How Depression Saved My Life’ global book tour and graciously hosted me.
The Ambassador, Ninikanwa O. Okey-Uche mni who was my chief host is one of the warmest, most delightful, most authentic human beings I ever met. I am always drawn to people who bring light and joy to public and corporate spaces - and she won my heart.
We spoke about our personal experiences with emotion and with depression, and they got several copies of the book!
