Touted as Hong Kong’s most popular canto-pop diva in the 90s, Sammi Cheng played a significant role in my teenage years because I grew up listening to her songs. Her songs have accompanied me through my ups and downs and I still listen to them today. Strangely, Sammi feels like a friend I have known since my teens.
默契，舍不得你，爱的挽歌，值得， 我应该得到 were the songs I sang to when I skipped school for Teo Heng karaoke sessions.
缺席，不拖不欠，如何掉眼泪，放不低，依靠 were the songs I listened to while crying over a breakup.
And of course, we have 眉飛色舞 - THE legendary canto-pop track of the 90s.
And those who watched Sammi’s movies will know her movie soundtracks such as 终身美丽，默契， 不拖不欠，感情线上， 快乐不快乐.
Memorable movies I watched more than once were 瘦身男女，孤男寡女，百分百感觉，夏日的麼麼茶.

Sammi’s passion, talents, authenticity, courage, and tenacity make her a respectable and inspiring individual. She reinvents herself with every album and concert, and it’s always exciting to see what she morphs into every new season.
Many celebrities have come and gone, but Sammi remains current and relevant to this day and age. A true legend in every sense.
Her evolution is an impressive journey and I wish Sammi all the best in everything she does.

This past year danced between the extraordinary and the beautifully mundane. Christmas Eve was a holy combination of brunch, heavyweight KTV (very holistic cocktail of Mariah, George, Cher, Gaga & Bruno Mars to name a few), dim sum supper with VS show and hilarious Patti LaBelle ‘Where are my background singers?’ playback. Grateful for the fun and laughter 🧚🏻♀️ #christmas

Waking up during the wee hours to chase the aurora, steamboat in winter, wind-chafed hands from the cold, cocooning in the winter woods, the amazing conversations we had - from the meaning of names to the enchanted forests of Finland, defining the traditional 肚兜 to our Finnish friends 😂, the unforgettable road trip with the most stylistic @spotify Blend of tracks (@happydannybunny wins ‘best’ song 😂), to soul-warming meals. Every moment was beautiful.
Although we got into a little accident en route to the airport (carpool karaoke-ing to 王菲’s classic tunes no less), the one thing I learned from it was that the people you surround yourself with during a crisis are so important. Slightly shaken but no one panicked, everyone stayed calm and we got out of the car with our belongings within five minutes. Efficient to a perfect ten. Praise the Lord for sending an angel in the form of a friendly taxi driver who was right behind us when the accident happened, and he swept us off to the airport within thirty minutes.
Lastly, in the good spirit of humor and love, I had to make a meme out of our dear sister @joxuann and her devil-may-care-I-am-agent-ethan-hunt attitude after the crash: Shit happens to the best of us, and it’s ok to walk away from it because you can.🔥💪🏻😎
