Been really in my Indian mysticism × Western aesthetics bag this week. Noticing how often these two poles have historically aligned in unexpected ways. Maybe it’s the mix of work lately, the new Gorillaz album, or the larger shift in pop culture toward the Asian superpowers. Around the same time, I’d been looking at a lot of pixel sorting work and realized how textural it can make a 2D image feel. On the right image, it almost pulls you into the subject. I took the idea of love melting you from the inside, combined it with pixel sorting, and used an illustration by the great Vaddadi Papayya from a cover of the Telugu Yuva magazine as the base reference for this sketch. Made the goofiest goober (an interpretation of the classic snake game) using ml5 and @p5xjs The snake has to get the fruit whilst avoiding me lol (I'm the tail) It's one of the simpler game logics: Apple - snake grow - don't eat yourself - if you do you die. But I thought that it'd be cool if it also had to avoid obstacles (me lol) asking the way. Swimming in a digital ocean. Was playing around with touchdesigner in the weekend (you know my non working based TD time). Always looked at those slick gradients and thought whether there was a way to get them to feel like touching water and I think I've done that a lil here. Defo can do a lil more to it. A little homesick is all the excuse I needed to sample sounds from @prajwalshekarmusic and make something out of it :) Thanks my brohemian rhapsody @thisis_arandomusername for the link up to help with the visuals. A crystalline form that came to me while I was looking at translucent crystal solids that I saw in some old gem book as a child. The way that some of these structures in nature diffuse the light in a way where the core shines but the edges have a weaker diffusion of the light. Also the zoomed in view reminded me of how some of these structures look in zoomed in view. #genuary31 , the prompt was to create a shader Prompt by @pifragile I already had a few shaders (glsl code) that I had worked on, but I wanted to start from a clean slate and I hadn't made a more free flowing movement on p5.
