I’m so happy to show you my new realtime fluid simulation system in @touchdesigner (POPs only). It was one of my goals when I started learning this software ! Built a full 3D grid solver that drives a massive particle field — up to 12M particles at realtime 60 fps on my setup. Under the hood here are the technical concetps : • Semi-Lagrangian advection + viscous diffusion (Jacobi) • Pressure solve (Poisson) and gradient subtraction for a divergence-free velocity field • Optional vorticity confinement for fine swirls and buoyancy forces • Particles advected from the grid via trilinear sampling • Strict no-slip boundaries and feedback-loop scheduling for stability All the videos here are realtime recorded. POP Fluid Solver is almost ready to share! As I mentioned in my last post, POP Fluid Solver lets you give almost any geometry fluid behavior. You can apply forces, temperature gradients, and pressure—and also tune the fluid itself: viscosity, temperature, resolution, and scale. What a beautiful weekend I spent at the @blue_perry_jazz_club . It was the first time I’ve ever performed visuals on something other than purely electronic music, and it was an incredible experience. For this evening I prepared two visuals (in the end I only used one). The one visible in the videos is a system of 12 repellers inside a field of 8 million cubes. The blue repellers represent the keyboard and the golden ones represent the trumpet. Whenever the instruments play, the repellers emit light onto the surrounding particles, push them away, increase the noise amplitude, rotation speed, glitter intensity, and more. All of this is driven by ARE.tox As a VJ you’re also part of the audience, so a big thank you to @yoann_loustalot and @julientouery for the universe they took us into last Saturday. And a big thank you to the Blue Perry for the warm welcome I received, it was a genuinely enriching human experience. I’ll definitely be back !
