Open mic night was incredible ✨🎤
From powerful poetry to breathtaking vocalists to music from @pree_djs that had everyone on their feet, it was a night to remember at @cupracitygarage_mcr
The audience brought the energy, our creatives showed up and showed out and it felt like one of those rare nights you just know you’ll be talking about for a while.

This is what Black Creative Trailblazers is all about. Yes, we platform creatives. Yes, we run events and showcases and panels. But at the heart of it? We build spaces where Black people can simply be, joyfully, freely and together in community.

Yesterday, our creatives made their mark on the city at the Greater Manchester Creative Industries Exchange ✨
From our drummers setting the tone with a high-energy African drumming session to our dancers bringing vibrant energy to the lunch hour, we infused the day with joy, rhythm and creativity.
Our models became walking works of art, showcasing @ruthwaziriofficial ’s floral-inspired collection Bloom, before closing with a panel specially curated by @blackcreativetrailblazers celebrating Manchester’s impact on fashion, hosted by BCT co-founder @thishartofmine .
We wrapped up the day leading a bookmark-making workshop using African fabrics at @sister_manchester edition of @venturecafemanchester 💫

70 years of you Daddy 🫶🏾✨
70 years of being the original life of the party and a wonderful 3 decades of being your daughters. How lucky are we?!
One thing about it, my daddy does not play about us. He shows up to everything, from our primary school plays when we were little to being our designated pizza deliveryman for our events to this very day, If he is around he’ll be there. Even after 6 hour journeys, exhausted he’ll be there.
I’m an adrenaline junkie and everyone else in my family is scared of heights but my dad would go on the rides with me so I wouldn’t be alone. Scared, he’ll be there.
We’ve learned to be courageous, bold and utterly audacious because of all the moments you were there.
I’m so grateful to God for the many years and adventures we’ve had together and while it might be greedy I kindly ask God that you’re by my side for all the big moments to come 🫶🏾✨

Earlier this week, we hosted the first ever Black Creative Trailblazers co-working day at @colonycowork ! 💻✨
We welcomed creatives from the BCT network to come together, share ideas and explore ways we could collaborate and it was a huge success - new ideas were sparked and new collaborations are in progress 💫
