I am delighted to announce my solo exhibition ‘ The Space Between Looking and Loving: Francesca Fuchs and the Menil House’ to open at the Menil Collection, Houston, Texas, May 23 - Nov 2, 2025.
It is a profound honor and deep joy to work with my favorite museum in the world, the best curator #pauldavis and most wonderful support team.

‘Spotted Mug’ is a handpainted edition in acrylic on cotton rag. In keeping with the iterative nature of my work, I chose to handpaint rather than print this 12/12 edition for CAMH’s 77th gala in honor of Sissy and Denny Kempner and their long support of Houston artists and institutions.
The edition depicts ‘Spotted Mug,’ a sculpture in fired clay and oil I made in 2016. I’m also referencing a painting of mine owned by Sissy and Denny, Dishrack (2008), which shows the ceramic spotted mug upside down drying on a dish rack.
I worked with Dan Schmahl @beachtrul@risingtideprojects to make a custom screenprinted glassine sleave for each piece.
so deeply honored to have work installed throughout the de Menil house. a selfie in the mirror with my ‘Fleurs Coquillages’ (based on Max Ernst’s) in this same corridor.
This F just broke my heart and back. I cried and laughed and haven’t even read it all. Death is so omnipresent. And love threads its way deeply and tenderly through this February 2026 issue ‘In Memoriam’
Thank you for including ‘January.’ I feel so honored to be part of this edition.
