With the 104th running of the Pike's Peak International Hillclimb coming up I've been thinking about last year's race a bit. I'll never forget it as long as I live. It was probably the absolute best way to experience a true bucket list event for the first time. Seeing aspects to it that the general public couldn't dream of and working the mountain as media and not just as a spectator.
Also it's incredibly fulfilling being part of a team effort. Struggling along side them as we all went through the week and trying to be available to assist however someone like me could.
Now that I've been through it once I know what I want to do better. Work more efficiently and get the best pictures I can.

Over a year ago, Cathy and I flew to Gaydon to spec a car we’d only seen in concept and we went all out on design. Now our Valhalla has finally arrived, and it’s got us completely blown away.

Big weekend coming up at UMC! On Friday, I am teaming up with @sabrecook to compete in the 2-hour enduro, the first of the 2026 @nasautah endurance series. Then on Saturday and Sunday we will be racing both @lamborghinisaltlakecity Super Trofeo’s in sprint racing.

In 30 days we head to Colorado Springs for our practice sessions on the mountain. It’s crunch time preparing the S1 Pike Peak Tribute for this climb to 14,115ft.

Thanks to @_tyler.brown for coordinating this as a last minute opportunity that neither of us could miss, to @tj_hammond and @eraap for piloting the 4Runner and of course to @umcupdates for being so scenic. Going back into time with unadulterated horsepower, an H-pattern shifter, a rough and raw Quattro AWD system and just enough safety equipment to say the box was checked.
We learned a lot at last year’s @pikespeakhillclimb , racing the 1985 Group B Milan-San Remo tribute car up the mountain. This knowledge was integrated into the @groupbgarage design/build of our brand new 1987 S1E2 Pikes Peak tribute car - @jrzsuspension , engine updates, updated cooling systems, and modified transmission. All of this has been added to the brut force aero that was peak Audi design for the high altitude hill climb.
We’ve got the car at @airpower.racing for final tuning and set up, and we will be out soon for test and tune with @jrcrosbytuned . It’s less than 6 weeks to our first on-mountain test!
