Celex, formerly known as Cabinett, is no stranger to electronic music, having spent years developing his own sound where house and deep were his common dominators. This time, the Korean producer moves towards a more ”disco“ and organic sound. In ”Capa Disco Works“, Celex delivers 6 tracks in a ”balearic“ key where arpeggios and psychedelia go hand in hand, creating the perfect soundtrack for a Mediterranean vacation. Indeed, the album was crafted by Celex following a holiday in Mallorca. 저는 어렸을때 제가 너무 싫었는데요, 그래서 잊기 위해 음악을 시작했어요, 운이 좋아서 어렸을 때 어떻게든 저 자신을 성공적으로 잊었고, 그렇게 서른이 됐는데, 더이상 이렇게 나를 잊고 부정한 상태로 늙기 싫은거에요. 소수가 되는게 두려울 수 있지만 저는 제 삶에서 이미 어떤 경우에는 다수가 아닌 소수에 속했다는걸 깨달았어요. 친구 없는 전학생, 실용음악과 입시생, 대학 안 가본 사람, 관심병사, 디제이들 사이의 프로듀서, 영어로 대화하는데 못알아듣고있는 사람 등. 그치만 포기하지 않고 잘 살아있어요. 사실 개성 넘치는 우리 모두 가끔은 약한 소수가 될 수 있어요. 번듯한 직장인이어도 힙합클럽에 가면 그냥 힘없는 아저씨일수도 있고, 인서울 대학 나와도 어딘가에서는 명함도 못 내밀죠. 유럽의 한국인 역시 소수에 속하죠. 일부러 소수가 되려는 사람은 잘 없는것 같아요. 위험하고 불쾌하니까. 하지만 자신이 언제나 다수일거라고 어떻게 장담하죠? 불의의 사고를 당해 눈이 멀어버린다면? 한국에 외국인이 너무 많이 들어와서 한국인이 소수가 된다면? 전재산을 걸고 코인을 했는데 전부 잃었다면? 이런 가능성을 대비하기 위해 우리는 평소에 장애를 가진 사람들을 돕고 노숙인을 지원하고 임산부를 배려하는거죠. 언제 우리 주변 사람이 이런 상황에 처할지 모르니까. 우리는 법을 떠나서 이렇게 서로를 지탱하고 있으니까. 제 생각이 맞나요? 지금 당장 자신이 다수거나 힘이 있다고 소수를 차별하는 것은 따돌림, 인종차별, 성차별 등 약자를 억압하는 형태로 나타나요. 누군가 아무리 인종차별주의자가 아니라고 해도, 장애인을 배려해야 한다고 말해도, 자신에게 이득이 되지 않는 타인을 대하는 태도에서 이미 드러나게 되어 있어요. 인생을 아무리 성공적인 루트로 살기 위해 노력해도 모두 다르게 살수밖에 없고, 각자 다른 길을 찾으면서 결국 다양한 소수가 되죠, 카피로 음악 작업을 시작해도 언제나 마지막엔 아예 다른 작업이 되는것처럼, 완벽한 카피는 거의 불가능한 것 처럼 우리 모두 아무도 똑같아질 수 없어요. 그래서 이상을 잠시 내려두고 자신에게 맞는 특별한 길을 찾아야 해요. 그래서 제 환경이 크게 바뀌어도, 내 정체가 다수가 아닌 소수에 속해도 제 인생이 아주 나빠질건 없다는걸 깨달았어요. 저는 “정상 한국인 루트”를 따라간 적도 없고, 이미 소수였던 경험이 있지만 잘 살아있고 다른 쪽에서는 다수에 속할 수도 있으니까. 아니면 뭐, 신경 끄면 되니까. 내 인생인데 감히 누가 참견해요, 그사람 시간 아깝게. 마음대로 사는 만큼 삶이 조금 어려워질수는 있지. 어려우면 더 열심히 일하고 잘 웃으면 돼. 멋지고 부러운 삶을 사는게 디지털 월드에서는 정말 중요한 가치관이잖아요, 저도 진짜 그러고 싶지만 지금은 내가 나를 보는 시선이 더 중요하고, 자유롭게 사는게 더 필요해요. 다행히 지금은 제 자신이 싫지 않아요. 아니 오히려 정말 여유롭고 행복해요. 통장 잔고와 별개로 누군가를 위해 충분한 시간과 감정을 쓸 수 있을 정도로 마음이 편해요. 여러가지 새로운 걱정과 수많은 고비가 시작됐지만 이런건 누구나 가지고 있어요. 만약 당신이 아무리 다수고 강자여도 여러가지 문제가 있는 것처럼. 제가 잊지 않았으면 좋겠어요, 소수가 되는 사람은 용감하고, 내 인생은 내 것이고, 참견 들어줄 시간은 이제 없다는 걸.
