From Berlin to Hackney Wick… Just before things kicked off for Vol. 2 of AMF Invites… we caught up with @onirigram from @otgdistribution to talk records, community and the idea behind bringing record shops into club spaces. That’s really what this series is about. Starting slow in the shop, digging through records, meeting people, sharing sounds… then carrying that same energy through into the night at Vittoria Wharf. From Onirik’s extended daytime session at All My Friends to the late night pressure downstairs, the whole journey made sense from start to finish. Side A opens with Fireground’s “Aquaria”, a sexy, bouncing techno cut carrying old-school Detroit spirit and harmonic fluidity: funky yet refined, shaped by the Italian duo’s live-set mentality, live improvisation and vintage synthesisers. Human Safari’s “Havanas” follows, merging jazz and techno through a standout trumpet solo and lush groove work, carving out a vibrant, genre-crossing mood that feels both bold and effortless. A glimpse into last weekend’s collab with @allmyfriends.uk and @thecauselondon in London! We started the day with blue sky and shining sun, downtempo sets at the Recordstore, followed by club sets at @vittoriawharfstudio . We felt the community love and the endless energy of the British capital. A key figure in the pre-social media UK techno and bass underground, Wheeler first made his mark in the early 2010s with his label Nineteen89, operating alongside the era that birthed influential collectives such as Night Slugs, Swamp81 and Hessle Audio. After years spent navigating the industry—managing artists, overseeing A&R for major labels, and curating club nights at some of the UK’s most respected venues—Wheeler channels 17 years of deep listening and lived experience into Deaf Florists.
