Their practice explores resistance, world-making, and post-capitalist desire, oscillating between online universes, post-apocalyptic terrains, and fleshy, corporeal realities. The last peach rose opened in my garden today, And it made me think of every flower I got from my garden this year, and the ones waiting for spring. What a joy to have a garden again 🥀

🌹THE MISSION IS THE END, THE END IS ALL I WANT!🥀 Currently showing @fact_liverpool till the 22nd of February 2026. Imagined as a fevered roleplay between selfhood and spectacle, a descent into the holes, portals, and feedback loops of identity as it mutates, staging the collapse between performance and sincerity, asking what remains of “authenticity” when every gesture, pain, and pleasure can be rendered, streamed, or monetized. The exhibition slips through avatars and alter-egos, each one trying (and failing) to stay coherent inside a world that feeds on projection. It’s a work about bodies as interfaces, language as contagion, and the erotic charge of losing shape in public. In this world, transformation isn’t liberation, it’s maintenance. The characters (or fragments) move through digital ruins and capitalist ecstasies, adapting until adaptation itself becomes a form of exhaustion. Their performances hover between confession and collapse, echoing through a landscape where everything can be rebranded, remixed, and resold. VSSL Studio is pleased to present Biolytic Daughter, a new exhibition by artists Bassam Issa Al-Sabah and Jennifer Mehigan. The show is co-curated by Mine Kaplangı, Benjamin Sebastian, Joseph Morgan Schofield, and Ash McNaughton. The show is part of the wider programme titled Entanglements of the Apocalypse. This exhibition is supported by Carefuffle, who are working with the artists to make the exhibition more accessible. Biolytic Daughter Artists: Bassam Issa Al-Sabah and Jennifer Mehigan Exhibition Dates: From 6th to 30th November, 2025 Opening Night: Thursday 6 November, 6pm to 9pm Contrasting the relationship between avatars and screens, and the feminine and the landscape – a common trope in feminist utopian literature – Bassam Issa Al-Sabah and Jennifer Mehigan question how we embody and are altered by climate collapse. Reflecting on the flatness of the screen, and their flattening of politics, they explore the impossibility and bureaucracy of being right in what can feel like the end of the world.
