The sentiment of family was the inspiration behind this knock down rebuild project. The architecture of the new home pays homage to the original 1950’s house where its bricks were recycled and given a new life through creative design. Hit and miss brickwork stands alongside the modern façade of Colorbond Monument Matt cladding, surrounded by an artistic native garden.

Sitting high up in the hills on a 5 acre block, this original 10 square farm house was tripled in size and brought to life with the addition of two bedrooms, each with ensuites, a work from home study and a 130m2 rumpus with a gym and games room. In collaboration with @maroondahlandscapes the landscaping consisted of a half court basketball court, infinity pool, outdoor kitchen, seated fire pit area and plenty of decking for entertaining.

Combined with a polycarbonate roof and exposed rafters, this was the perfect option for maintaining privacy, yet still allowing light to filter through.

Taking inspiration from the original mid-century home that stood on this block, this kitchen is a winner. With crown cut American Oak veneer, paired with pastel colours that flow through to the pantry and laundry, it makes for a timeless classic.
