We never expect to be recognized for the things we do! It’s such an honor to be seen & heard by our peers, mentors, friends and community. There are so many beautiful and immensely talented human beings here in Texas with countless stories that need to be told. With the creation of Third Place sharing those stories in our space has been the most rewarding experience for us. That in itself has grown into something bigger than we could have ever imagined ❤️ JŪN & Third Place will always be a safe space that nurtures growth, expression, & creativity. We draw inspiration from our community, and try to work closely with local farmers, makers, artists, chefs and more. Our goal has always been to give the best experience to our guest and our team. We stand by everything we do and are bless we can do it everyday. Thank you Houston 🙏 for trusting & supporting us! I was so excited to share this I forgot to comb my hair. Eduardo Garcia, Founder of @azul_canela_co Eduardo is the founder of Azul Canela & Co., a Wednesday pop-up at Third Place in the Heights @thirdplacehtx serving refined fusion dishes like molotes, enchiladas, and lechón cemitas. Blending Mexican, Asian, and American influences, his cooking pairs bold flavors with thoughtful technique and a rustic heart. Inspired in part by chef Mike Potowski, Eduardo learned to see food as a way to connect cultures through shared meaning. The name Azul Canela reflects that balance: Azul represents an upscale, rustic aesthetic, while Canela ties back to his Mexican roots and the warmth of home-style cooking. Starting as a dishwasher, Eduardo built his approach on grit, discipline, and the mindset, “Stay humble, stay hungry.” Today, his seasonally evolving menu and focus on local ingredients continue pushing the boundaries of fusion catering while creating experiences rooted in flavor, culture, and care.

Back at @thirdplacehtx this Sunday 4/26 with two brunch specials! I served Jollof Grits at my very first pop up, and they are finally back on the menu 🥹 We're serving these with fried catfish (marinated in coconut and lime), broccolini, plantain, pickled onion, and cilantro chutney Also, we are bringing back our Smoked Brisket Breakfast Sandwich! Brisket, egg, and cheese topped with avocado, fried plantain, and refried black beans. All on perfectly baked bread! See y'all tomorrow!!! ❤️ #houstonfood #indigenoussoul #txbbq
