Preparing a canvas for my next solo show at @thinkspace_art in August. I always prepare my own canvases starting with a fine weave raw Belgian linen. I love the craft aspect of painting and starting from the raw materials lets me control the process all the way through. An oil painting is an image but it’s also a physical object and working with the materials helps to inspire my creativity and come up with ideas.

Some habits never leave you. 😍 Since childhood, the floor has been my thinking space, my planning ground, the place where ideas spread out to map future projects and ideas. Today, fresh off a stretch of deadlines, I dropped right back down to it, and this time the work ahead is something I've been quietly building toward for a long time..... Planning has officially begun for my solo exhibition at @thinkspaceprojects , opening January 2027. It feels far away until it doesn't. 😅 This is the part of studio life I find deeply sustaining and rewarding. More to come as the work takes shape. I am so thankful for this incredible opportunity ❤️

Come meet some adoptable furry friends this Saturday from the crew at Stray Cat Alliance. This Saturday, May 16 from 12-6PM representatives from Stray Cat Alliance will be on hand along with some of their furry ones that are looking for new homes and also sharing information on how you can be a foster and help them out further. Come meet adoptable kitties and learn more about the adoption process. We are also accepting wet and dry food donations that day, to help them with all their fostering needs. Please help if you can. We will give a li’l something back to all that bring in food donations. PLUS we will have a coloring table set up for kids of all ages to color in special sheets created for these adoption events by our good friends Allison Bamcat and The Obanoth (see above). And of course check out over 60 😺 works on view as part of ‘Our Fantabulously Furry Feline Friends’ exhibition.
