Hendra began a small project of single variety Abyssinia in 2013. In order to get the cherries, he had to mark specific trees, pick and even buy from other producers around the area. The coffee cherry is separated by collection point, in this case is growing altitude. Cherries from similar altitude will be processed together. This will lead to a more uniform size, density and consistent cup quality. The Abyssinia is processed separately. Last year he built a new washing station that helped him to process coffee more efficiently and have better productivity. After picking, the cherries is pulp then fermented without water overnight. After fermentation, the parchment rinsed in the channels to remove the remaining mucilage, then soak for another 12-16 hours with clean running water. The clean coffee ready to be dried in the morning on raised bed for about 2 weeks. These steps of washed process results in brighter, cleaner and a more transparent cup. PS: The first photo is how pickers got paid in Gayo. The white bucket called kaleng is sort of a volume measurement. #coffeeconnects #THFtravels #thfcoffee

The Sultani Estate is a producer that we’ve been working with since 2020. Short for ‘Suara Lantang Petani’ (it has nothing to do with 👳‍♀️👑), Sultani Estate is committed to improving livelihoods of coffee farmers through sustainable practices. As Eid holidays are approaching, what better way to celebrate a family reunion than exchanging warm hugs, enjoying great food and having warm conversations over a cup of ☕️. Our freshly released coffee from Sultani Estate could be a perfect choice for this special occasion. Sultani Coffee is now available both in our Dago shop and Tokopedia. Place your order before our online store is closed for Eid Holidays on 20 - 25 April. Any order placed after 3 PM on Wed, 19 April will be processed when we resume on Wed, 26 April.

Still can’t move on from Jakarta Coffee Week 2022! The past weekend together with @instinct_roastery @hungrybirdcoffee @a.roastworks we had an opportunity to join Jakarta Coffee Week again after 2 years. It was an amazing opportunity to re-connect with our fellow roasters, farmers, coffee enthusiasts and everyone in the community. We would like to thank @jktcoffeeweek committee for organizing this special event and providing such platform that brings everyone together. As for us, this event gives us a chance to share again our excitement and love for coffee. And this year, we would like everyone not to 👀👀 far to find good coffee and that’s why we highlight our good neighbor Thailand 🇹🇭. [COFFEE OF THE MONTH JUL - AUG 2022 : KOERINTJI BAROKAH BERSAMA] #FRESHCROP is our bi-monthly program to highlight one producer from all around 🇮🇩 and share with you the uniqueness and potential from regions across the country. For this month, we’d like to invite you with us to take a trip to Kerinci, a region that is located 11 hour 🚐 drive from the city of Jambi. On one of the 🗻⛰, Mt. Tujuh, you find a cooperative named Koerintji Barokah Bersama. When we first visited them back in August 2019, we had a chance to discuss about the potential of processing with different methods and separating lots by its variety/village. This year, we’re thankful to have the opportunity to visit them again and buy a full range of coffee. From this month onward, you can try 5 different processed coffees from this cooperative, and 3 of them are single village lots from 3 different areas. Coffees are tasting fresh and flavor is on its peak. If you like a light, tea-like coffee, the Washed processed coffee is for you. And if you like fruity coffee, the Anaerobic Natural from Batang Sangir village is tasting like summer, packed with ripe 🍇, 🍓🫐 and so refreshing! You can purchase these coffees on our website if you’d like to brew coffee at home, or you can always come to our shop and we’ll transport you to the Mt. Kerinci 😬😬

What distinguishes @serojabake from the others is their mission to highlight Indonesian traditional/unique ingredients as well as to reduce food waste ♻️🗑, which are reflected in their products. At their new home at Cihapit, Seroja Bake hopes to share their philosophy of food to the public through a casual dining experience 💫. You could start your day by getting their delicious Roti Bakar Kopitiam and pairing it with a traditional Aceh style coffee ☕️ - Ice Shaken Kopi Sanger, made with coffee from our long time producer at Pantan Musara village, Gayo. Or you could also stop by during your busy day to enjoy their renowned Cassava Tart with West Java Chocolate and Burnt Marshmallows. If you’re on the mood for a light dinner, their 🌮 Taco Kambing Muda will surely make you come back for more. Seroja Bakes is currently accepting reservation only from 7:00 AM - 8:00PM. Reach thru Seroja Bake DM to secure your seat.
