THEY WILL BE QUEENS is a documentary film that  honours the enduring legacy of Cape Town’s queer and trans histories through Salon Kewpie: The Legacy Project, a ballroom celebration of queer youth, culture and resilience, hosted in partnership with GALA Queer Archive and the District Six Museum. Framed through the lens of Ballroom, Salon Kewpie hosts an annual workshop programme, creating a space for queer youth to engage with the Kewpie Photographic Collection, learn valuable skills, and be in community with one another.
