D E F I N I T I O N Contend fiercely. Make it your life’s pursuit that nothing—and no one—writes your story except the hand of God. Fight for the language that names you. Chase it with passion. Guard the fingerprints of heaven etched upon your life from being smeared by pain, people, or the past. I speak as one who has walked through seasons of both making and unmaking—moments where I couldn’t show up the way I longed to, where love slipped through my fingers, and opportunities faded because my hands were too weak to carry anything but grief. But I refused to let those seasons, those people, or those detours define me. I reserved that right for God alone. And it is for this reason I could dance in storms and sing through chaos. Even when I was hidden away on the threshing floor, He called out the warrior within me. Dear one, whatever you allow to define you, you also give the power to deform you. Even if their words echo who you’ve been or who you are today, remember—human sight is far too limited to grasp the glory of who you are yet becoming. So fight—yes, fight—to be defined by nothing but the living words of God. #HealingThroughWords #StorytellingMatters #ExplorePage #ViralReel

First—okay, the audio is valid 😂 Second, consider this your sign to clear your drafts… because here I am, sitting on articles and essays that could actually be out in the world, doing some good 😌 Third, shoutout to @writegoodstories . That pitching class didn’t just push me to clear my drafts, it showed me how to do it right. Capish? ✌️

In January, I kicked off my MCing for the year at @theyellowwriter ’s birthday and book launch, and it was nothing short of special. Such a beautiful, intimate evening filled with prayer, worship, heartfelt readings from the devotional and powerful spoken word by the author. We even went around the room sharing personal moments and encounters with God. It was deeply beautiful, moving and so calming. Honestly, it’s hard to fully put into words, but I truly believe it was a glimpse of what you’ll experience reading “Finding Intimacy: A 40-Day Devotional” by Bukola Oladunjoye. I’m so glad I get to unbox my copy with you. Thank you so much, @theyellowwriter . God bless you 💛 Go ahead, grab a copy for yourself, and maybe one for a loved one too 🌻

In the beginning was the Word. Not a sermon. Not a formula. Just a Word. Breathed, spoken, alive. Poetry isn’t an add on. It’s a return to how creation actually works. Rhythm. Breath. Silence. Sound. We are honored to welcome Bukola, The Yellow Writer as a guest contributor to Songs & Silence. She won’t perform. She’ll simply minister. Taking the raw stuff- longing, loss, hope and laying it before God in words that would pierce through like incense. — April 18 | 5:00 PM The Pentecost Hub, Lekki Phase 1 19 seats left Come. Be still. Listen. #SongsAndSilence #TheYellowWriter #GuestContributor

I love recognition, I love repatriation, but what is justice to an altered destiny if not the redemption of her own path. Read here: /2026/03/30/africa-already-lost-an-eye/

Anyone can celebrate a breakthrough. Not everyone can steward the silence before it. Before the sea opened in the story of Book of Exodus, there was a stretch of wilderness. Before the resurrection, there was the silence of the tomb in Gospel of John. The pattern is consistent: Pressure. Process. Then Promise. Because when the door opens, you won’t have time to become ready. You will only have space to reveal what the waiting made of you. Breakthrough is coming. But more importantly, becoming is happening.

No one is running your race. No one is living your life, no matter how identical it may seem to the one you imagined. The life you’re living is the only one you have. If you feel something is missing, it’s either discontent—or the greatness within you still crying out for expression.

Is the weight of what you’re asking God for matched by the depth, consistency, and maturity of how you pray?

Shifts happen in motion! I once erred by waiting for God to unfold the entire map of my becoming. I wanted measurements. Certainty. Every cubit named, every inch explained, as though purpose must arrive fully clothed before it can be worn. But mercy interrupted my delay. With a mighty hand, the Lord pulled me from the quiet ruin of hesitation. That slow, polite disobedience that disguises itself as preparation. When Finding Intimacy was written, I cradled it like a promise not yet permitted to breathe. As though heaven must split open, as though God Himself must appear between the cherubim before I dared to release what He had already given. Then grace found me on November 10th at The Oasis, Lagos. A word from God through @nathanielblow for writers. Oil in prayer. And without thunder or spectacle, I knew this was delivery time. The push did not shout. It did not shake the room. It simply lifted my gaze upward, gentle and unarguable, whispering: Now is Kairos This work, I see now, is a first fruit, not a monument to my hands, but a spark for hearts waiting to remember how to move. Words becoming testimony. Testimony becoming motion. So God’s word to you is, Arise. What rests in your hands is already enough. Enough to tilt the axis of a life. Enough to redraw a destiny. And if the world it changes is only one soul, know this: your obedience is a shift. And that shift may be the reason someone look to heaven one more time. #FindingIntimacy #HeisNear
