The Garden of Live Flowers for @flanellemagazine July 2024 Print Issue This fashion editorial is inspired from the scene of the second chapter of "Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There" when Alice passed by some beautiful flowers that can talk. The team pushed the concept further by bringing together designs from local Filipino fashion designers and incorporating flowers to the story - may that be as part of the styling or larger than life elements. Do I have a right to be tired of all this resiliency? Or, is it the only thing that keeps me grounded. It will come a time. Today. I finally found my home. Hence, I built my own. Giving space and time to celebrate oneself, to others and to the world. It may not be perfect but it is indeed something I could call, my own. “When we get sunk down in the dark night of the soul, it helps to remember this is just one phase that will change into something else. We will come out of the darkness with something that will help us and help other people. It is actually a kind of purification phase.” — Linda Leonard, Ph.D, Seasons of the Soul With the death of my parents, I found myself dying along with them. A metaphysical thread of life was severed. Yet, with this heartbreak, I make peace with rebirth. In their death, in the physical realm, is their legacy for me to now carry on. The Grim Reaper has stripped away illusions of what I knew life was— much like the shaving of my hair. Each strand that fell is shedding old identities. This act is a declaration: I am not defined by what happened to me, but by what I choose to be. I am not what I have lost, but by what I choose to courageously face bare and unhindered.

As the #eldestdaughter, this #womensmonth, I claim this era for grief and healing. I HONOR every emotion, every scar, and every transformation. This is my revolution: Vulnerability is not the opposite of strength, but the very foundation of it. Raw courage. In this internal auditorium of co-existing emotions, I learn to make peace and sit with them— hairless, (heartbroken) heart-open, and brave.

A composition from last year for @megamagazine that I only get to post and talk more about it. Scaling up and down elements have been a recurring theme for me, and I have wondered to myself if I will be able to execute it on a beauty photo. Lo and behold, their team reached out to me to co-create this image. This was a test of lighting Queenie's face and her on a ladder cohesively and merging them together in post-production. A home stitched together with threads of memories, love, and passion 🏠🪡❤️ For the graduation fashion show of UPD BS Clothing Technology Batch 2026, the designers titled it “Tagpi-Tagpi”, referring to the idea of collaging each designer’s unique world into one unified tapestry of fantasies — recognizing their different approaches on fashion as their strength. This batch is diversely composed of freshies, shiftees, transferees, and individuals coming from different backgrounds; and their chosen title embraces the myriad of their experiences in the culmination of their journey as BS Clothing Technology students. When Ron, their creative director, pitched to me the concept of their designer shoot that involves world building, I knew I had to be on board for their shoot. It was also a full circle moment for Ron; his hat design was featured in my Alice in Wonderland-themed fashion editorial published in Flanelle Magazine in 2024. As Ron explained in our Zoom meeting, they aim the designer shoot to evoke ingenuity, craftiness, connections, and a sense of wonder in relation to the theme of “Tagpi-Tagpi” The patchwork dollhouse was created in collaboration with UPD Fine Arts students, headed by Raffy, Alia, and Jo. Each room references the concept of the designer’s collection, and the designers are scaled down to fit into their rooms — communicating a sense of childlike dreaming and conquering their larger-than-life dreams.
