NOLA WRAP 🎷✨
A look back at last week’s leadership retreat in New Orleans for
@thewhatalliance —from the last precious moments at our partners departures lunch at
@galatoiresrestaurant to our first-night dinner at
@hotelstvincent
We’ve produced many gatherings over the years, but this one was solid gold. Instead of panels and presentations, we focused on connection, experiences, and delight—making sure all 40 women met, mingled, and truly saw each other. When we hit planning snags, we leaned on a wise mantra from TWA Ally
@bronwynsf ‘CONNECTION OVER PERFECTION’ and some of our most spontaneous moments turned out to be the most powerful.
For those who’ve followed us since our Splendora days circa 1999, you know our pronouns have always been We/Us. It’s never just been about us—it’s a mindset that includes our team, our readers, and now, our Allies. Twenty-five years, three companies, and countless pivots later, we’re still partners, still BFFs, and still writing in the third person. 💛
Five years later, watching the friendships and ideas that sparked in NOLA reminded us why we always say that COMMUNITY IS THE NEW SOCIAL. Our Allies are our We. 💫 This weekend, that We expanded to include new voices like Alanah Odoms
@aodoms Executive Director of
@aclu.louisiana and Maggy Baccinelli
@maggyrose Founder of the Louisiana Alliance—leaders fighting for justice and equity. By the end, a group who first met at Table Four had already decided to take on weaving social justice and impact for ALL women into TWA.
That’s the power of bringing together brilliant women together with diverse expertise —✨ connection, momentum, and the start of something bigger than any one of us.
