What happens when we remove the barriers to wellness and promote mental & physical health resources and access in our communities? We’re ready for it. We need it. Beginning March 31st, @thewalkgoodyard will transition to become a fully donation-based creative wellness studio, offering free weekly yoga and meditation classes to the community. Yes, that’s right. No memberships. No drop in rates per class. There is no price on your health. We are so proud to be introducing WeGood, a new program at WalkGood open to all. All ages, all levels. We are all deserving of access to holistic wellness practices in our community. It’s time we receive that access. Classes will be offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. You can view the new schedule and RSVP now at walkgoodla.org. If you want to support WalkGood LA in keeping programs like WeGood free and accessible, consider becoming a monthly donor by going to our website or texting WALKGOOD to 53-555. See you soon and WalkGood ❤️💛💚 Follow @thewalkgoodyard #losangeles #wellnessstudio #freeyoga #healthaccess #community

2 years of building community ❤️💛💚 What started as a protest in the park turned into a space for healing, movement, and real connection. From collective action to collective care, The Walkgood Yard has grown into something powerful a place where we breathe deeper, move with intention, and show up fully as ourselves. This isn’t just a milestone, it’s proof of what happens when community chooses community. Thank you for showing up, but most importantly showing up for your YOURSELF!

✨Our Arts Accelerator is a space for creatives young womxn to explore their voice, build community, and grow in their craft through real world experiences, learning and mentorship. For our last session, we gathered at The WalkGood Yard, holding space not only to create, but to pause and pour back into ourselves. With guidance from a wellness practitioner from the WalkGood family, our girls were able to ground, reflect, and reconnect. We were also joined by community organizations like SONA, who showed up to share their insights and poured into this cohort reminding us how vital it is to be in conversation with those actively shaping the industry. Programs like this are only possible through community. Having spaces and people who show up in this way allows us to nurture both the artist and the individual. We are grateful. 🤲🏽💕 📹: @itsdondiestro

In a time when our bodies are under constant stress — from political attacks to economic pressure to nonstop crisis cycles — regulation isn’t optional. It’s strategy. This past weekend, BEAM partnered with @walkgoodla for Regulate to Resist — a reminder that sustainable resistance requires nervous system care. We gathered in circle to practice real-time regulation tools and moved through a grounding yoga flow designed to help us release tension and reconnect to ourselves. Because when our bodies are dysregulated, we burn out. When we are centered, we can think clearly, act intentionally, and protect our communities. The Zen Den at @thewalkgoodyard held space for that reminder — care is not a luxury. It’s infrastructure. Grateful to everyone who showed up ready with openness and trust. 📸: @kavipictures

Rosa Parks strengthened the movement by strengthening herself. ❤️ Long before “self-care” became a trend, it was survival. Photographs uncovered by Dr. Stephanie Y. Evans reveal Parks practicing asana in the 1970s, a reminder that resistance is not only protest, it is preservation. She didn’t just sit in defiance. She breathed, stretched, and centered herself for the long road toward freedom. Her practice speaks to something powerful: sustainable activism requires restoration. Facts and historical context sourced from Yoga Journal, “Rare Photographs Show Rosa Parks Practicing Yoga” by Monica Cadena. Read more: /yoga-101/history-of-yoga/rosa-parks-yoga-images/
