Seeing our name sit right between Deborah Berke and Thomas Phifer (architects we’ve studied and admired for years and years) feels crazy!! Just to be mentioned in the same breath is… honestly, bonkers.

This recognition is massive for us—Thank you to everyone who has cheered on our work. We’re both humbled and so so fired up for what’s next!

We’ve designed for all kinds of people in all types of environments: from a modern mountain retreat for a couple obsessed with hosting to a wellness-centered home made for aging-in-place. Each design is a response to the family’s distinct personalities and the landscape’s unique features!

Centered Sanctuary, a new in-progress residence in Water Mill, NY, is designed to be a peaceful haven for the homeowners, encouraging grounding moments of calm and reconnection to the present moment.
.
The design of the home emphasizes seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor areas. A central garden courtyard serves as a beautiful, private respite from the stressors of daily life. The home’s bar scheme is rotated slightly to align with the rear yard, opening up the major living spaces to more natural light and expanded views of the nature-filled backyard.

Home is where gathering together is the star of the show.
.
In the kitchen of our project Fourth Noir, a pair of large islands with dark onyx vertical-grain oak cabinetry and light Caesarstone countertops create a sculptural contrast to the bright light that floods in from the rear yard.
.
To define the home’s spaces in this large open gathering space, we created a subtle shift of large-format porcelain floor tiles that give way to dark-stained oak floors as you move from kitchen to dining and living areas. The entire rear of the home is a fluid, open space designed for bringing family together, entertaining, and connecting.

A home inspired by the sense of awe you get from nature.
.
Set on six sculptural and functional plinths, Balancing Rock is our latest in-progress Westchester home that references a local natural marvel left behind by an ancient geological event: an unexpectedly large piece of granite resting perfectly on smaller rocks.
.
The concrete residence evokes grandeur while its sweeping curves hug the topography, creating fluidity and movement.
.
Inside, the interior design nods to the site and the architecture. The materiality and color palette harmonizes with the surrounding landscape and calls back to fallen leaves, tree bark, boulders, and other natural elements. Select custom furnishings mimic the home's curves and are oriented towards the view while simultaneously creating intimate moments for gathering.

Designed for a creative couple with illustrious careers as video game designers, Brick Breaker is our under construction NYC project that balances the restoration of a historic property with the introduction of modern sensibilities.
.
At the crown of the home is a new addition which houses a penthouse suite, an intimate study, and a private roof deck with awe-inspiring Manhattan skyline views. A perforated brick facade and large arched window creates a custom privacy screen that fills the primary suite with natural light and a delightful interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.

Home dances with nature to create a sense harmony, wonder, and beauty.
.
Our in-progress project, Boomerang House, is carved into the gentle hillside on one section of the property, offering privacy, blending into the landscape, and appearing as a single-story volume. On the other side, the two-story rear opens up into bright expanse with natural views, pool, patio, yard, and wildflower gardens.
.
The long leg of the home’s L-shaped plan is rotated towards the hill, letting the architecture act as the retaining wall and eliminated the need for additional structures. This procession leads to an open-air planted courtyard that serves as a threshold between the interiors and the natural surroundings.

Home brings joyful gathering.

The heart of our renovation of a 2000s Hamptons traditional home was a radical shift to an open plan layout. Relocating the kitchen, originally at the center of the home, to a perimeter wall, yielded much needed breathing room to the floor plan. Throughout the home, removing some of the previous noise of the original architecture enabled us to reclaim space that brings joy to the homeowners with simplicity, light, and a renewed sense of purpose.
