Toppan were one of several Japanese companies whose generous support enabled the establishing of the Type Archive in the early 1990s. It was a pleasure for @richardardagh to visit Toppan’s @printingmuseumtokyo and present them with a copy of his ‘Type Archived’ book.

‘Type Archived’ Collector’s Sets are now being dispatched. They include ‘Engineering the Word’, a companion book printed letterpress from specially-cast metal type and with Alan Kitching’s dust jacket printed from woodtype (to show what the tools and machinery shown in the main book can achieve).
