Tired of the linear climb? It’s time to stop following someone else’s blueprint and start designing your time with purpose.
Join us for Breaking The Grid with @rgogel – an honest talk challenging the conventions of growth, career paths, and creative leadership.
Rachel Gogel, independent creative executive and former leader at The New York Times’ T Brand Studio and Facebook, stepped away from full-time life to launch her own successful consultancy. Now, she’s sharing how she built a harmonious blend of consulting, teaching, and intentional rest after trading San Francisco for Paris.
This is more than a talk – it’s a chance to connect with like-minded creatives in the design, tech, and media space. Come for the inspiration, stay for the networking!
Date: Thursday 14 May 2026
In-Person: St Bride Foundation
Doors/Bar: 6.15pm | Talk: 7–8.30pm

“Listen, Analyse, Practise, Create, Acknowledge, Share, Invest.”
Last October, we hosted a conference curated by Greg Bunbury titled “Doing the Work”.
It was a participatory conference dedicated to recognising and amplifying marginalised voices.
Through talks, discussions, and a collaborative workshop we:
• Celebrated the creative brilliance of marginalised designers.
• Confronted the realities of racism and exclusion in the design industry.
• Explored pathways to build an inclusive, equitable future for all.
The day culminated in a collective act of creation: together with our facilitators and speakers, participants we workshopped ideas into a shared manifesto.
This manifesto has now been designed and printed at St Bride Foundation’s letterpress workshop using woodtype from our historic collections, combined with a polymer plate created using David Williams’ Salford Sans, and printed on A3 165gsm vibrant yellow paper kindly supplied by Fenner Paper.
This manifesto stands as a permanent record of our conversations and commitments – a tool for designers and organisations to adopt, promote, and live by.
This is an invitation to listen, to reflect, to act – and to do the work, together.
Copies of the manifesto are now available to pre-order via our online shop. Please click the link in our bio for more information. They’ll be mailed out by June.
Huge thanks to everyone who spoke, facilitated, organised and participated at the conference and specially to Greg Bunbury, Becky Chilcott, the letterpress workshop team at St Bride Foundation, Fenner Paper and proofreader Claire Baker.
