The design magazine I’ve been waiting for launched a few months ago! 🎉
I’m honored to have written a piece for @designfully__ ’s inaugural issue called “The Age Of (Personal) Agency Is Upon Us”; and I loved discovering all the other fellow contributors in this stunning 260-page printed artifact. If you’re featured, let us know you’re here! 🙋♀️
This must-read was thoughtfully designed by a team of volunteers to celebrate and support a range of underrepresented creatives, expanding beyond the gender binary — leveraging the incredible network and community @maryhemingway_ has built over the years through @designbywomen_ .
Special shout out to @miriamjcb for creating the art to support my article. 🙏🏼
And a big thank you to @designobserver for becoming this article’s digital home! I’m grateful for @sheenamedina and @chalkitup for believing in the piece and supporting its message. 🥰

It’s hard to truly capture how I feel about relocating to my childhood city.
I moved to the U.S. when I was 17 to study at @uofpenn and never really thought about when I’d attempt to return (beyond the 1–2/year vacations to see family). Although, I was always curious — in an abstract kind of way — and increasingly imagined what it might be like to live here as an adult full-time.
But here we are: @shainley and I took a big leap of faith as we slowly approach our 39th year of life, and it just feels right…
