a deep dive.
A third space is more than just a physical place—it’s a feeling, a connection, and a community where you can be yourself, grow, and find belonging. It’s where you pause, reflect, and engage in ways that ground you, inspire you, and push you forward.
The journey to discovering or creating a third space isn’t linear— we realize that as we all come from different paths there’s no single way to experience it. A third space evolves with us, and is shaped by our needs, values, and the communities we’re part of. What remains constant is the opportunity to nurture the places, people, or things that allow us to thrive, connect, and grow—together building communities that remind us we are all part of something greater.
Whether it be a friend or a specific place, what’s important is the necessity to come together, sharing our experiences in a welcoming and understanding environment. We hope to nuture a third space where we feel seen, heard, and connected— being able to explore shared or differing journeys, and create a sense of belonging - whatever that looks like to you.

From April to September, Building Bridges was a space for growth, opportunity, and connection. Over the course of the program, participants gained valuable experiences, with some moving into employment, volunteer opportunities, and new pathways for their future. But beyond all of that, what mattered most were the relationships built along the way.
At its core, Building Bridges was about creating space for young people to connect with themselves, with one another, and with the possibilities ahead of them. To close out the program, we were grateful to end with a camp experience that gave participants the chance to reflect, celebrate, and deepen those bonds even further.
A heartfelt thank you to our funders, Foundation for Black Communities (@fdnblkcomm ) and Ontario Trillium Foundation (@yofatotf ), for believing in this work and making programs like this possible. Your support helps us continue creating meaningful spaces where youth can grow, belong, and thrive.
