In 2023, I was commissioned by Hermès (@hermes ) to create a playful custom art piece for their new Atlanta Location in Phipps Plaza. This 12ft high and 144 ft long barricade decorates the construction currently underway and aimed for completion Fall 2024.
I had the opportunity work with the stellar women of Hermès’ marketing team & Phipps Plaza as they helped make the process super smooth for me. I would like to express my gratitude to Hermès by saying, Thank you for choosing my work to represent your brand.
If you find yourself perusing at Phipps feel free to drop me an appreciation photo.

Soooooooo, Mama🕊️ I did a thing….🥰
I’m so proud of myself. A rare moment. I am still taking it in because the work doesn’t stop. Worked on this for a while and this was my first major retail luxury client commission and I must say I learn so much and I am grateful for the opportunity to display my work in a very prominent space.
A super special thank you to @namaraprojects for choosing me as one of their 4 artists to be displayed in the retail space.
The retail staff is so amazing and kind - genuine happy and peaceful people. I’m so glad to be able to bring them a bit of joy when they are at work. Amber Isaac Janae Jeezy helped me sign my work and I couldn’t be more honored to have them apart of this moment.
You can check out my work in - @canadagoose located at @shopphippsplaza
Stay Tuned!! More to come.

Guess who’s bizzack!! Welcome back Vanna Black (@therealvannablack ) to Artful ATL 2026!
Vanna studied fine arts as an undergraduate, developing her style over time through a connection to brightly colored African motifs, symbolic elements, and influences from Japanese landscape and floral illustrations, resulting in work that feels both serene and grounded. Additional inspiration stems from her childhood explorations of nature, where she discovered how the natural world could shape and expand her imagination, as well as from her experiences hiking trails throughout the Appalachian Mountains.
She uses her art as a visual metaphor, encouraging viewers to reconnect with nature as a way to enhance their mental well-being. Vanna’s mission is to use composition, color, scale, and balance to open the viewer’s mind, prompting internal reflection on one’s thoughts about the world we live in today and the perspectives of others. She envisions a world where people nurture one another while learning to be self-sustaining, much like nature itself.
Vanna is a native of Atlanta and is represented by Cat Eye Creative. She has created work for ATL DTN, Living Walls, the City of Atlanta, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Hermès, and Canada Goose Atlanta. She currently serves as a volunteer member of the social media team for the CreativeMornings ATL Chapter.

There’s something deeply healing about creativity shared in community.
Last night at Shared Affirmations, we sparked joy through giggles, sparkles, color, and honest conversation. A simple act, creating and exchanging affirmations, became something much bigger. A reminder of how powerful it is to slow down, open up, and connect with one another.
This is exactly what we all need right now.
A massive thank you to Vanna Black, the artist in residence over the past three months at The Lola. She has been such a meaningful addition to the community. Through her work and workshops, she brought so much value, joy, and intention to our members, while also welcoming in new energy and new faces.
Thank you also to @naeemahjade and @thelola_women for seeing the value and healing power of the arts and for supporting our work.
Grateful for moments like this and the space to create them in partnership with Atlanta’s unique art community.
The time has come to bid farewell to the ray of light that is “Primordial Feels” by Vanna Black. Her show will come down the evening of 4/30 and we will forever remember the positive impact this work had on @thelola_women space, members, and guests.

This diptych shows the familial and cyclical relationship that plants have with each other. Tree roots represent the neuro-network of pathways present in both humans and trees that tether us together mentally, spiritually, and physically.

A shared art experience rooted in care, reflection, and connection.
This gathering invites you to move beyond yourself and into the act of giving. Each attendee will write a set of affirmations, words you’ve needed, words you carry, and offer them anonymously to the group.
From there, you’ll receive a new set of affirmations written by others and use them to decorate your own wooden heart box, transforming shared words into something tangible to take with you.
A simple but intentional practice:
what we give has a way of finding its way back to us.

The final artist in our artist highlight for FRIVOLOUS is @therealvannablack - swipe to learn more about Vanna. Her work fuses inspired African motifs with the serene landscapes and floral aesthetics of vintage Japanese illustrations.
“Because of Somebody” I was afforded the honor of knowing people like you!
In @therealvannablack words… “This work is inspired by the Curators Submissions reference the imagery on the Peter Street Station Building. There is an image of a little white boy that inspired Joanie to turn into Miya now the owner of PSS which is a full circle moment. The term Nobody was originally on the facade and then later removed. As Joanie’s piece is titled Somebody - my piece is titled because of somebody.
Because of Somebody is the catalyst for unification. Someone had to start the process of bringing likeness together in solidarity with one another. In this case it is the vision and brainchild of Miya Bailey. The painting utilizes the artists flower motifs and a new approach to discovering a new process which uniting forces requires. The goal in mind was to display the theme of unity in nature that depicts the community of the Peter Street Collective coming together for a greater good.”
“Somebody” is a reimagined storefront on @petersstreetstation beside “Nobody” by Axlevoid. First and foremost when I had the life altering event that brought me here I mostly remember that colors made me happy, colors like @therealvannablack uses thoughtful on wood to portray her vision of unification and solidarity. Unity can be found right here on Peters Street. #COI19 #Unity #startingoffmycollection🔴 #curatingmydreams🥂 #artistsunite
