6 years sober today.
SIX YEARS.
Just insane.
I now have a beautiful daughter & beautiful partner, I just got off a tour that was a success in every metric, I’ve written a huge folder of new material for the next album, marketing business is going crazy, I have learned how to do things I used to have to hire 20 people to do.. I get to train JuJitsu.. I get to lift weights …
I get to do SO MUCH MORE now that I don’t give 80% of my life to a bottle.
I never thought I could be creative, or have the balls to START something new, without a drink.
I don’t hate alcohol. On the contrary, it was useful in lots of ways - I had great times and of course some bad times - but the thought of just continuing to do the same. Fucking. Routine. Until I was 50+? I just have not seen it work out well. For almost anyone.
Don’t be afraid to put that shit down. Don’t be afraid to start again. Stay on the path - who knows… u might meet a beautiful little girl that steals your heart and has your eyes. You might find out that your music business DOES make money and thrives. You might learn some new stuff that you never dreamed of understanding.
Don’t be afraid. You can do ANYTHING u want in this life 🤍🥋💃
This little cupcake and I go back 20 years!!! I’m sure she doesn’t know how much I love and admire her - not only was she a blast when we were both professional drinkers, but she beat me to the path of sobriety - and through it all still remains absolutely outrageous and conversely incredibly sweet. I love u @joeletz 💃💃💃 I’m so glad we got to go out again!!!
