This ride was all about technique: holding balance, finding the right body position, sharpening reaction time, and ironing out those little uncertainties that can become big problems when you’re pushing full speed down the mountain. Today, I deliberately left speed behind in the forest – sometimes controlled precision is worth more than shaving off a few seconds. 🧠⚡️ For me, it’s not only about endurance and strength, but also about fine-tuning the connection between bike, body, and ground. When the day slowly winds down and the sun paints the sky in a firework of orange, red, and violet, mountain biking reveals its most magical side. With my Orbea Wild, I roll straight into the golden hour. The air is crisp, the light soft yet full of energy. Each pedal stroke is accompanied by the long shadow of my bike stretching across the trail. The noise of the day fades, replaced by the gentle whisper of the wind, while the ground crunches beneath my tires. The trail ahead twists through forests, opens to sweeping views, then dives back into the dance of light and shadow. My Orbea Wild responds precisely, almost like an extension of my own body. Skifahren ist für mich mehr als nur ein Sport – es ist ein Lebensgefühl. Diese Freude durfte ich gerade wieder ganz intensiv erleben, beim Testen der brandneuen @5ive_sports Bindung in der Skihalle Neuss. Ja, mitten im Sommer, mitten in NRW – und trotzdem echtes Ski-Feeling! Schon beim ersten Schwung wusste ich: Diese Bindung ist anders. Super leicht, wahnsinnig direkt und unglaublich komfortabel. Die 5ive gibt dir das Gefühl, wirklich mit dem Ski verbunden zu sein – nicht irgendwie festgeschnallt, sondern integriert. Heute war ein besonderer Tag – stilvoll, bedeutungsvoll und gemeinschaftlich. Der Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride brachte uns erneut zusammen, um ein Zeichen zu setzen – unterwegs im Zeichen der Aufklärung über Männergesundheit, gemeinsam mit vielen engagierten Gentlemen und Ladies auf zwei Rädern. Ich danke jedem Einzelnen, der heute mit mir unterwegs war. Es war nicht nur eine Ausfahrt, sondern ein Statement: für mehr Aufmerksamkeit auf Themen wie Prostatakrebs und mentale Gesundheit bei Männern. Jeder Teilnehmer hat heute mit seiner Präsenz, seiner Kleidung, seinem Fahrzeug und seinem Herzen dazu beigetragen, diese wichtige Botschaft weiterzutragen. Es geht heute nicht nur ums Fahren, sondern ums hinsehen, zuhören, ansprechen. Der Gentleman’s Ride ist mehr als ein Event – es ist ein Aufruf zur Verantwortung. Golden hour rides are something else — just me, the trails, and that feeling of pure freedom. Today I headed up to Seekarkreuz, one of my favorite summits here in the region. Nestled deep in my home mountains, it’s a spot that always feels a little more special, a little more mine. No crowds, no noise — just endless views and winding trails. The climb was almost effortless on my @orbea Wild E-Mountainbike, carving up steep sections while the forest slowly turned golden around me. Packed light with my @evocsports EVOC backpack, I had everything I needed for the ride: water, a jacket, and a clear mind. My @oakley clear glasses kept the low evening sun at bay, sharpening every shadow and color as the sky flared into reds and oranges. There’s a certain kind of silence up at Seekarkreuz that you don’t find anywhere else — just the whisper of the breeze and the sound of my tires crunching over gravel. Watching the sun sink behind the peaks with no one else around felt like time standing still. Rolling down into the valley, chasing the last light, I couldn’t help but feel grateful — for rides like this, for trails that feel like they were built just for me, and for gear that you can just trust without thinking. The ORBA Wild ate up the descent, playful and powerful, while my Oakleys stayed crystal clear even as shadows stretched across the trail. And my EVOC pack? Fresh snow, twisting mountain roads, and the thrill of a little hobby rally driving—it doesn’t get much better than this! The Sylvenstein area near Lenggries was a true winter wonderland today, with powdery snowflakes settling on every curve and straightaway. Of course, I was only enjoying the scenery and the way my car handles on such picturesque roads. After all, adhering to the StVO (German road regulations) is a must! 😉 Let’s be honest though, it’s the overlay that adds the illusion of speed—it’s all about having fun, staying safe, and appreciating the moment. Winter driving isn’t just about getting from A to B; it’s about the connection between driver, car, and the road. These snow-covered routes remind me why I love this hobby so much—it’s equal parts art and science. Sylvensteinsee in the winter feels like something out of a fairytale. The calm of the icy lake, the surrounding white-dusted peaks, and the occasional soft crunch of tires on snow—it’s the perfect backdrop for a peaceful yet exhilarating experience. Driving responsibly doesn’t take away from the excitement; in fact, it’s part of the fun to test skills within safe and legal limits. If you’ve never been to Sylvenstein in the winter, I highly recommend a visit.
