I’m still amazed at how much better I feel after a skate. It’s like a mental palette cleanser. Bad day? Skate. Dog died? Skate. Car won’t start? Skate. It ain’t the answer to every problem I ever had but it sure keeps me outta rumination station while I figure 💩 out. And for that I’m grateful.

Something about minding my business is really working…
I genuinely don’t know what’s going on half the time. With the politicians, the news, the community gossip, or anybody else’s business. And it’s by design. They say ignorance is bliss and I’m here to tell you it ABSOLUTELY IS. Minding my business has put me in rooms I never knew existed, much less being full of people and things I deeply desired and turns out also deeply desired me.
Am I cold, uncaring, and selfish? Or wise, intuitive, and thoughtful? Depends on your perspective. And here’s the thing about perspective: everyone has them and they are constantly changing. So I stopped spending my finite energy to curate a version of myself to fit everyone else’s perspective of “perfection”. It cannot be achieved and if it could, the cost of trying to reach it is authenticity. Wayyy too high a price for me.
So I mind my business because it doesn’t actually matter what anyone else thinks or feels about me. Minding my business looks like embodying a version of myself that I LOVE hanging out with. Doing things simply because I enjoy them. Maybe there’s zero external value in spending 4 hours blowing bubbles. But if it makes you laugh, what a thoughtful gift to give yourself! 4 hours of your life carved out just to make yourself laugh. And why the hell not? You’re frickin worth it!
When I’m happy and healthy and using my energy to focus on taking care of myself, I found that the rest takes care of itself. Alignment happens. Things fall into place. The universe responds to my acceptance. The universe responds to my surrender. And it rewards me when I show up as the version of myself who deserves to be cared for, considered, appreciated, and admired by sending people who care for, consider, appreciate, and admire me. All because I mind my business.
So everything is going to be okay. Even if the world is on fire. Even if people hate me. If I just focus on me, I will always be okay. And so will you. If you’re brave enough to mind your damn business 💘
