Again, in a very expensive high school senior year that is keeping me from NYC, the livestreams are saving me! I am so determined to attend a Miscast in the future. What a GREAT performance, although that Sam Tutty and Christianni Pitts mashup at the beginning about took me out. Laughing and sobbing at the same time. I need Darren Criss' version of Annie to be made. Nik Christopher doing his thing. Brian. Stokes. Mitchell. What a beautiful night. Can't wait to experience it in person at some point. I finally got to a NorCal Arts @norcalsota production and saw caspianbutificombinedwithacarp shine. What an incredible "kids" production of Les Miserables! The voices on some of these young performers were so strong and stunning. Fantine's "I Dreamed A Dream" was so pure and Caspian's Enjolras leading "Do You Hear The People Sing" was so special. Bravo, Caspian and Company! Wonderful performances! Happy Closing!!

Another fabulous New Play Brunch at the B Street Theatre! These are staged readings for new plays with a brunch included, and usually include a talk-back with the playwright, cast, and director. We really enjoyed this show and the talk-back for it was wonderful! I look forward to the next iteration of MY FRIEND, RASPUTIN'S HEAD, especially if Amy Kelly is in the role! Perfection. Loved seeing some of our B Street faves, too! A lovely time.

In a world where the audience struggles to maintain boundaries and not engage in para social relationships with performers, this guy made that extremely difficult. The light he shone and the warmth he exuded to everyone he met made it impossible to not feel like you were one of his very best friends.

More B Street Theatre goodness! We were finally able to make it back to In A Nutshell, a monthly storytelling event featuring four to five storytellers sharing their experiences on specific topics. Last night's was "Take this Job and Shove It!" which featured a wide range of work stories, from being on movie sets to being a dad, from sand on the floor to Kentucky fried hands, a great night of laughs and ovations.

Sacramento celebrity Jack Gallagher is closing up shop and moving out to the East Coast. A large part of the local B Street Theatre at the Sofia (9 one-man shows!), he and his son, Declan Gallagher, wrote a final one-man show called The Irish Goodbye.

Another Livestream. What a gift this is in a year when I can't jet off to NY as often as I like. Being able to see THE UNKNOWN with Sean Hayes at Studio Seaview from the comfort of my own home was fabulous.

Despite story or performance, the one-person performances that skip intermission are so impressive. The only break Hayes gets from speaking for multiple characters is some pre-recorded music and song. A psychological thriller with an ambiguous ending is kinda my jam, so this one hit the spot.
