Are you watching the @eurovision on Saturday night? We were lucky enough to work on it when we hosted it in Birmingham all those years ago after @katrina_leskanich won. This is our winner @deltagoodrem for 2026 it’s an absolute master class in performance. Delta knows exactly where to move each hand, where to look at each camera and puts on a performance like she’s the opening act of a major award show. It’s an award winning performance from a world class artist and is so exciting to see. Sadly, we think the UK is going to be right at the bottom of the leaderboard once more. It feels like a song that has been chosen for Eurovision rather than a song that the decision makers would actually enjoy to listen to themselves. Music for us is all about emotion. It should never feel like a choice that is made in a BBC boardroom. But of course we wish all the success and luck in the world to our entrant. Passion always wins. This video is such a valuable reminder for anyone wanting to succeed in any career we talk to our clients a lot about the importance of passion if you really want something and if you really love something then that is really exciting to see as a producer when I’m hiring presenters for programs I want to hire the person who comes alive when I share the idea the person who smiles when I talk to them about the project and the person who feeds back in a positive joyful way. In order to succeed in the creative industry, you really need to love what you do but that love needs to feel warm and genuine. TV is always carefully thought out planned and produced and the presenter is given as much help as is needed in order for that interview, programme, or film to be as natural and as engaging as possible. Not all TV is planned well in advance some is very last minute. Here the reporter for the Donald Trump 60 minutes interview explains how the interview with the President of the United States came about and how it was very quickly put together. In these kind of situations as a presenter you’ve got to be prepared, you’ve got to know your research and you’ve got to be present in the moment in order to listen, adapt and react to what comes back. President Trump in the interview called out the reporter when she quoted a line from the gunman. It was a tense moment and one in which regardless of whether you feel was appropriate.
