Lots of music to come coming into life in the near future To start on Friday April 3rd i'm playing a solo set on a bill with some deep homies @___superinfinity______ and @_merefever . I will be revisiting songs from my first two solo albums for they have started to speak to me again. In Marshall at the tea tent Secondly the @thepowersensemble record is in it's final mastering stages at @_dropofsun_ now and we are planning to release it mid summer! Also new @shamtunes album is finished and can be expected very soon. A wonderful cohesive well composed album I'm very grateful for the gift of @shanejusticemccord song writing and collaboration New band of local powerhouse musicians for @aaaveytttare new album is bad ass as hell, and I am so honored to have spent the months leading up to recording really getting into the grit of the songs with such talented players. Don't know when thats coming out but stoked for when it does. And finally we are soon headed back into the studio with @ellicotthooligan to record the accumulated jams from this past year for a second album really excited to dive back into the free flow of that band after getting so deep into so many song writing and compositional projects.

The Powers Ensemble has already taken many forms in its creation. After 2 years of slowing introducing more beautifully talented musicians into the mix we ended up with a 6 piece ensemble that we were very excited about documenting in a studio setting. Once this past winter, and once in the spring, we recorded two groups of songs as live performances at @outtherestudioswnc in Marshall NC. Without a time frame of release, and an eagerness to share our music with our loved ones and community, we decided to host a showcase to perform this collection of songs as they were recorded on our upcoming album. 🌸 On July 25, we are hosting a special showcase of The Powers Ensemble. A rotating group of musicians and friends brought together by musician and composer Michael Powers. This six-piece ensemble represents the full band on Powers’ upcoming album release. - Their musical approach feels like an old world technique to experimental folk & drone music. We find it to be quite unique and touches one’s soul on a multitude of emotions. Evokes feelings of our past, present, and future selves. Additionally, there is often a gorgeous sentiment of naturalism and kinship within Powers’ music. - Expect sounds of: guitar, mandolin, upright bass, flugelhorn, violin, percussion, drums, bass clarinet. Opening up the show are: Lemon Balm & Libby Rodenbough Lemon Balm - a singing trio of wide eyed dears living in Sandymush, NC. With sparse acoustic accompaniment, their music hollers out with tight harmonies, thoughtful simplicity, echoing the spirit of the past with a glimmer of worlds that could yet become. @lemonbalm.band Libby Rodenbough - based out of Greensboro, NC, her music is an inventive intimate folksy sound. Sounds of violin and voice.
