Reorganized the comic book collection.
Hosted another great @birdwatchingfilmfest
Shoveled the snow out of a crack for a comercial in 20 degree weather.
And cut my hair to play a lead role in the feature film “The Family Jewels”

Some days you’re a 1st AC and you don’t know you’re doing a car rig till you get to set so we get to rig up to monitors with whatever you’ve got on hand. This rig brought to you by 2 @matthewsgrip mini matthellini, 1 @camvate monitor cage, 2 @smallrig.us cine arms, all holding up 2 @feelworld_monitor and a @hollyland.na receiver. That way I was able to pull focus off the 7 inch and the director could watch the take on the 10 inch. Me, Director and Sound all crammed into the back seat together making art!

Wow it’s been a crazy few months, I haven’t posted since my birthday in June. 😅
In that time I:
•Was the B-Camera AC on a feature directed by a guy whose work you’ve definitely heard of
•was a Production Assistant on what’s probably the biggest TV show to come film in KC
•Gripped on a commercial
•Camera op-ed two corporate gigs
•Started filming two new Sherlock Holmes films for @samtady
•Filmed a short film for @3.palm (and got to voice act in it)
•Filmed for @hannahunruhkc sold out show at @thebirdkc
•helped @joashlenny with his newest short “Jekyll/Hyde”
• Gaffed for on day one @imtiredofhurtingpeople with DP @jessievdv.cine
• my short film “No Small Parts” screened at both @wyomingfilmfest and @safilm (directed by me & @thisislololoren )
• @theycallherdeath_film came out on blu-ray!!!! I’m both in it and helped as crew and it’s dope so go buy it!
• The commercial I was in, in June, came out! Go check out @repeal_day to see me!
•And Lolo and I celebrated 10 years of marriage. ❤️

Had a great Birthday yesterday! Thank you to everyone who reached out, posted, or sent well wishes by carrier pigeon.
I turned 33 yesterday. The same age as many famous deaths including Jesus Christ, Chris Farley, Nipsey Hussle, John Belushi, and Amadeus Mozart. I’m also officially older than Bruce Lee was when he died. That’s crazy to think about all that those people accomplished on their short trip on this planet and I’m really proud of the much smaller accomplishments I’ve made in the past year.
I moved up from PA-ing on most sets to working a variety of positions from AC, to Scripty, to 2nd AD to even Director of Photography on a couple commercials and a TV show. I was paid to work on 3 feature films and got to work with people I have looked up to since I was a kid.
I also finally reached my goal on 1,000 subscribers on YouTube and was able to monetize my channel with the success of a couple of my short films.
I had my short film “No Small Parts” have a wonderful local festival run and is now about to branch off to other festivals nationally.
It’s been a great year and I could choose to just look at it in terms of others who’ve died at that age and what they accomplished in that time vs what I’ve accomplished but I’d prefer to talk about this:
At the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring Frodo is celebrating his 33rd birthday which is the year a Hobbit officially enters adulthood. It’s the year in which his journey begins. So I’m finally an adult hobbit this year! I can’t wait to see what journey I’m about to begin.

KCFFI Day 2!
Comedy Block sold out!! Had a lot of positive feedback from my performance in “So You Want to Date My Mom?” if you missed it and wanna check it out head over to the @ixfilmproductions YouTube page.
Then I saw the local feature film “Rennie”. It’s a comedy mockumentary about Renaissance Fairs made by tons of talented KC filmmakers, definitely worth checking out!
Also update about “Home Planet” it was supposed to show in a short block tonight but due to a technical error it didn’t end up playing. But have no fear rumor has it it will be playing Sunday at 7:15pm so make sure you come see it. This will be a word of mouth screening cuz it’s not in the program so get the word out!
