We built a camera rig that probably should not exist… so of course we filmed with it.
Meet **VERTISCOPE** — a mad-scientist SmallRig camera rig experiment designed to rethink how creators capture both vertical and horizontal content.
This setup gives us an almost-square image after rotation and desqueeze, which means more flexibility when creating for Reels, Shorts, TikTok, YouTube, and traditional widescreen edits.
It was never meant to be a normal event coverage rig.
It was made to test an idea.

There is literally a lot of moving parts with this setup!
All wireless, mind you. So yeah, I’ve always been meaning to tinker around with SmallRigs wireless focus system and I self taught myself how to program the ranges and use the unit!
Also had a bit of forethought in terms of how I was gonna see my image, so I also brought in my Accsoon Cineview HE unit to stream signal into my iPad through the Accsoon See app.
Again, lots of moving parts which came together into this little experiment right here! I think the wireless system I built out would be great for independent, solo filmmakers or for self tapes! Which I kinda want to do, hence the experiment lol.

Pocket lights are underrated on set. This thing tucked into spots no panel light could ever reach and the output honestly surprised me.
