On February 25th, @katha.india officially unveiled their newest space, a haven for creators - a coffee shop, bake house, gallery, creative space, and everything in between. I was asked to be one among a line up of some amazing artists to contribute to their very first gallery showcase, “Interpretation of Coffee”. The resulting artwork which I duly titled, “Origin” is a culmination of my love for coffee and art. Seeing my work have a dedicated space and spotlight in a gallery is a first for me, and something I’m still trying to wrap my head around! A surreal yet exciting feeling, and I couldn’t be more grateful! A big thank you and shout out to everyone at Katha for choosing me to be among your lineup of artists! SO FAR feat. @rakshasi_ is finally coming out on Valentine’s Day this year, that’s Feb 14 for all you lovelorn people. Art by @theonyxmethod Mixing and mastering by @rickyb_music This was one of the first songs I ever made. Before I was ever calling myself a rapper and before @rakshasi_ was involved in all the cool things she does now. @rakshasi_ was living in Pune at the time and she was here for a short vacation. We were friends for a couple years at this point and we met for an hour that day and spent 30 minutes of it recording the first draft of the song that would eventually be SO FAR. This was in 2021, so this is officially my longest project. @rickyb_music was involved very early on and put as much time and effort into the mixing of the song as anyone could. We went through maybe 20 mixes before we decided. @theonyxmethod came into the picture a little later and did the best artwork that anyone possibly could’ve for the song. He painstakingly made sure every detail of the artwork was exactly how we envisioned it because he believed in the vision. This song was only made possible because of everyone that worked on it and Everyone that heard it performed. If you’ve come to a show, you’ve heard SO FAR before, and now , 3 years, 6 recording sessions and 20 mixes later, you can finally listen to it in your own homes.
