I appreciate everyone that has reached out or said something about First World Problems.
A lot of harsh truths and too many unexpecteds this past year. I miss my dog Ernie and wish my friends were here. I take in the New Year somewhat ritualistically so I’m eager for this one to wrap up and start off 2025 with new music out in the world. I hope there’s something on the EP you’ll carry with you or pass along to someone else.
I’ve been thinking a lot about Luigi. The next steps needed to take not only to survive, but to continue to support those struggling to fight for the bare minimum and basic standards of humanity. Proud of everyone I pull cables with & humbled to be union. Grateful to the people around who are willing to keep me in proximity. Excited to keep making music, even if it’s simply to maintain my own sanity. Hoping to collaborate more.

Ion’s music is an inward reflection focusing in on resilience of the worker. Enduring the working class hardships through the Guthrie lens over a sonic guttural rawness that hones in on the prospect of our power as the people to maintain vigilance and hope.
Ion is a beat maker, producer, and is a well known master of ceremonies in Iowa City. Come out to the jam on Tuesday for a chance to freestyle, jam, or just to enjoy the lyricism.
