y’all ever just shapeshift? (1yr —> 4yrs on T☺️) 4 years of slow, patient tinkering w body + mind. lately I find a lot less interest in scouring the before-and-afters for differences and am mostly tickled by all the sameness. on this anniversary I wish for all (all!) of us to have free, safeguarded, uncontroversial access to gender-affirming care and to enjoy the wild coaster of physical transfiguration. and, the world has a seemingly eternal (+ often sinister) obsession with the physicality and *look* of transness, and I hope we haven’t lost the plot. give everyone HRT who wants it, so we can quiet some of the noise + get back the business of tinkering with the soul, which it seems is probably the whole point, if there is one… swipe for the fateful first dose, and again for my ~actual~ 4th bday :’) Deuces. #trans #pancakes

among the many childhood relics I’ve been unearthing since moving back to NYC — THIS. hard to think of many objects that have had a bigger impact on my life. I was prob around 10 or 11 yrs old when I swiped this mix CD my older brother’s friend made for him and would listen to it during recess on my yellow sony walkman. (for context up until this point I had heard almost exclusively classical music, Astor Piazzolla, & The Beatles.) holyyy shit my world was rocked. special appreciation for the intros of Pink Floyd ‘Money’ and Aerosmith ‘Sweet Emotion’ ~ very first tastes of musical sampling/sfx and manipulated vox🤤 and there was no returning {…all roads lead to burial…}
