“That star status could serve him well as he launches his run for District 10 supervisor, representing one of the city’s most overlooked areas and last Black enclaves. Ellington filed paperwork this week to represent the district, which includes a range of economically and racially diverse neighborhoods, from the Bayview and Hunters Point to the Dogpatch, Potrero Hill, Sunnydale, and Visitacion Valley.” #SanFrancisco #Dopatch #PotreroHill #VisValley #Sunnydale

Let’s be real… Too many families are getting pushed out. Our southeast neighborhoods deserves the same energy, focus, and investment as the rest of San Francisco! I’m running for Supervisor because we can do better. And I’m ready to do something about it in the city that made me. #SanFrancisco #District10

We kicked off this campaign on sacred ground in Sundial Park, right in front of Gloria R. Davis Middle School. In the heart of the same neighborhood that made me. I didn’t come into this work from the outside—I was raised in it. And I believe with everything in me, we can do better! That’s why I’m raising my family in this same neighborhood. This campaign is about making sure San Francisco is a place where families can afford to stay, feel safe, and truly thrive—for generations. Thank you to everyone who showed up and for all the support! Now, let’s build the neighborhood we deserve. #sanfrancisco #bayview #dogpatch #potrerohill #visitacionvalley

Do you remember the Geneva Towers? 28 years ago, on May 16, 1998, the Geneva Towers in Visitacion Valley/Sunnydale were imploded after years of neglect and unsafe conditions. I still remember watching from McLaren Park with my brother and so many other community members. But what many people lost their homes and were forced to move outside of the City. It was identity, culture, belonging, and community compromised. As public housing continues to transform across District 10, we have to remember the human impact of change and make sure longtime residents feel seen, respected, and connected to the neighborhoods they helped build. #SanFrancisco #SFHistory #PublicHousing #Sunnydale #AffordableHousing

What gives me hope is seeing longtime residents continuing the fight to build the neighborhoods we deserve. A community that continues to organize, show up, and believe in what’s possible for the next generation. That spirit has always been the heart of Bayview. #Bayview #District10 #SanFrancisco #CommunityPower #BlackSanFrancisco

San Francisco has always been a place where people fought to live openly, authentically, and with dignity. That legacy and work matters, especially at a time when so many communities across the country are facing division, attacks on their rights, and attempts to erase their existence. Thank you to Equality California for continuing to lead with courage, compassion, and purpose! We all have a responsibility to build a city where people feel safe, respected, and able to fully be themselves. @eqca #EqualityCA #LGBTQ #SanFrancisco #Solidarity #Pride

SF Sounds continues its work creating space for artists coming through the Bayview Opera House to speak beyond the performance itself documenting not only the music, but the lives, histories, relationships, and creative processes behind it. This Friday, a new SF Sounds podcast episode featuring MeloDious @thisismelodious premieres online. The group reflects on building chemistry over years of playing together, navigating life as young Bay Area musicians, and the experiences that shape the gospel, jazz, soul, and R&B influences heard throughout their work. Produced with Elewa Media @elewamedia and La Fauna Music @lafaunamusicsf as part of SF Sounds’ ongoing effort to document Bay Area artistry through conversation and live performance.

For Small Business Week, we did some shopping at L&J Groceries on Leland Avenue. Thank you Timmy and Paul for over 7 years of serving the Visitacion Valley community. I always have a good time every time I stop by. Neighborhood small businesses like this help keep our corridors active, connected, and full of character. If you’re in the area, come down and check them out! #SmallBusinessWeek #VisitacionValley #LelandAvenue #SupportLocal #SanFrancisco @visitacionvalley

As we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, it’s important that we intentionally uplift and acknowledge the Pacific Islander community and the deep contributions they’ve made to the City and County of San Francisco for generations. Thank you Dr. Patsy, Sophia, and PeeJay for all you do for our city and community. 🌺 I’m committed to making sure Pacific Islander communities are not only acknowledged, but truly supported with the resources and investment needed to continue to build, stay, and thrive in San Francisco. Representation matters. Presence matters. And community matters. @fia415 @puipuiheart @scdc_sf @aprisf #AAPIHeritageMonth #PacificIslander #SanFrancisco #District10 #SanFrancisco

Today is National Nurses Day and the start of National Nurses Week. The boys and I have a favorite nurse we want to celebrate today: my wife and their mother, Seray. Seray is a neonatal nurse who spends long hours caring for newborns and supporting families during some of the most important moments of their lives. Her compassion, patience, and dedication make a difference for so many people across San Francisco. Happy National Nurses Day and thank you to all the incredible nurses who show up every single day to care for our communities. đź’™ #NationalNursesDay #NursesWeek #HealthcareHeroes #SanFrancisco #NICUNurse @seray31

When I came back to finish college, then Mayor Gavin Newsom appointed me to the San Francisco Youth Commission. We advised the Board of Supervisors and other city departments on issues that affect youth in our city. We cut our teeth with things like free Muni for youth, juvenile justice reform, education, and every year produced our own budget priorities. #youth #publicpolicy #sanfrancisco
