WE DID IT 🏆 26.2 miles in 3 hours, 56 minutes. A rain storm stopped minutes before starting, IT band pain flared up in my right knee at mile 9, tears at the finish line realizing what I’d pushed through this day and the past year to get to this moment. The marathon has been an elusive goal for me the past year due to injuries and I’m just getting through processing how I feel and what it all means. I cut my hair right after, which many of my friends and family would say was overdue, but I’m so glad to put that look in the history books for a fitting moment and move on. The past year or so I’ve felt more so a permanent resident of the world around me. I’ve grown up so much and it feels like it’s my world too now not just the elders’. I’ve realized so many of my goals in life and I’ve physically/metaphorically summited almost all the mountains I’ve challenged myself to climb. Most have been wars of attrition and pushing my limits. The marathon however feels like the symbol of a significant shift in my priorities. It’s forced me to acknowledge that you can’t push the whole time or you’ll burn out. You have to slow yourself down consciously, or your body will slow you down as mine did when my right knee acted up during a pee break. Maybe it was the universe helping keep things exciting for me because after all, pain has typically been my barometer for progress. Maybe I’m realizing life doesn’t need to be so painful. Maybe some level of struggle is what I need to be happy and proud. We’re still figuring that part out, but I’m marking this moment as a turning point nonetheless. Hugs thanks to everyone who cheered me on, trained with me, provided coaching, and helped get my body right. I saw all the messages you sent during the race when I had to switch to music after I let my pace group go ahead. I attribute my finishing time to the energy you all gave me. I ran alone but it didn’t feel like it.

Co-DP’d this with director @alexkimkenealy Boys of Summer Campaign for @henryrose More to come from this one, but I couldn’t be more proud of what we created together on this one. We swapped between so many mediums - from photo, to digital video on FX30, to 16mm film (these videos). Alex’s creative direction really carried this one - we had to shoot at a lake in LA, which is not easy! Props to anyone who can guess where this was shot. Shot on 16mm Kodak 250d with our handy Canon Scoopic.

Spent Saturday in Columbus, OHIO experiencing one of the best things in college football….an Ohio State game! The atmosphere, the band, the student section, the pageantry… it was all there. We were on the ground for @nbcsports and Big10 trying to make commercial-looking footage out of a documentary-style day. Our team of four, working together, staying light, moving quick, and covering as much as possible. Grateful for the team and what we accomplished. @samshouv@nbcsports PRODUCER 🎥 @aaronmendezfilms DP 🎥 @theodorecalebhaas – CAMERA 🎙️ @noahnoah – AUDIO Edit by @noahnoah Music Ohio by @caamp #collegefootball #big10 #nbcsports #behindthescenes #bts #ohiostate #gobucks #

New DP Work! Missing Presumed Dead - The Negotiator - Season 1, Episode 1 on Hulu 977 days… that’s how long Michael Scott Moore was held hostage by pirate gangs in Somalia. How he got home is the wildest travel story I have heard in my whole life. All the emotions, the rawness of it all. Tears were brought to my eyes hearing the story of his perseverance and his Mother Marlis’s determination while negotiating his release from Somali pirate gangs. I’ve been waiting a while to share this one, but it’s finally aired and can be streamed on Hulu/Disney+/National Geographic! So proud of our small team that made this episode happen. Enjoy the stills and Swipe to the end for BTS! Director @redtail_jc DP 😃 Audio/AC @spagettit

Sequoia National Park Backpacking! What a trek, what a crew. We did about 40 miles round trip, gained 3500ft/day till we crossed over Glen Pass at 12,000ft. Our packs were heavy, but our hearts were more full and we overcame the elements, injuries, and altitude. The Bubbs Creek / Raw Lakes Loop is one of the most beutiful treks within sequoia national park. It’s a 4 day journey, filled with wildlife and plenty of water sources to refill at or swim in. So many fun memories, too much for one post, but here’s some of my highlights: 1. We got to take a dip at Rae Lakes in the valley surrounded by mountains. 2. We saw plenty of birds, lizards and snakes - in one case, Gomez survived a surprise rattlesnake encounter unharmed. 3. We slept beneath the stars after making camp at Rae Lakes and saw plenty shooting stars. 4. We got to play a board game that Colin somehow packed and carried the whole way with all these gems we bought & exchanged. 5. We had four days to disconnect from society and rough it out there in the back country with only each other for support - what an incredible team. Hope to hike again with you all soon! @penguu93 @dgomez1817 @colinwelk5 @larryborumiii @sbellairee

New Camera Work! So proud of what we created. This time it’s the music video “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight” which is now playing on @sammyhagar ’s YouTube! All praise to our team who made this happen. Sammy, Joe, Anthony & Kenny brought incredible energy all day. The lighting team brought the coolest vintage tungsten lights and lit the heck out of this one. Han kept us in focus and supported me all weekend. Gabe & Emmy were the unsung heroes of this one for stepping up into multiple roles! And man, ZZ you absolutely crushed this on the day and you went nuts in the edit. So much talent brought together. Honored to be a part of this. @sammyhagar @joesatriani @mad_anthony_bassman @kennyaronoff Director, DP: @zzsatriani Producer: @cornyshaun Associate Producer: @ehhmerald A Cam/Movi Operator: @theodorecalebhaas 1st AC: @hanradjawane Gaffer: @funeraldrip Best Boy: @adam_dinihanian Key Grip: @peter_maxfield_siemens Grip: @gabor1888 Editors: @gabernini @zzsatriani

Tennessee Thanksgiving 2024 Friends, Family, Fish <3 This holiday’s always been so special for our family. This year we got to bring more friends than I’ve ever brought before and we had such a blast. We work so hard year in and year out. Trips like these remind me of what’s really important in life. I’m so thankful for all the loved ones I have in my life. I rely on you all more than you ever know. A Yasui thanksgiving isn’t for the faint of heart. You only need to bring clothes you can get dirty and boots you can get muddy. Uncle Bob and Aunt Karen have the rest. We’re lucky to have you all in our lives. My aunt, uncle, and my cousins and second cousins are some of the best human beings I’ve come across. Wish I could have taken more photos.

11/9/24 - Bucket List DP Work!! I had the honor of filming at the notorious Penn State whiteout game this year vs Washington with an amazing unit. This was the most people I’ve ever seen in one building in my whole life. 110,233 fans showed up and let loose. Did I mention it was only 37 degrees Fahrenheit!!? PSU fans, you all are ridiculous and I love it. Swipe through for stills and bts 🔥 This was the third NBC shoot in a series we’ve been doing for big10 home games for promo footage for the 2025 season. Fans, mascots, cheerleaders, iconography, details, that’s what we went for. Any way we could get creative angles that typical broadcast cameras couldn’t get to was our mission and we crushed it thanks to leadership and support from our teammates. @nic_sin did an incredible job this series designing shot lists, leading us through the hurdles of game day logistics, and physically navigating us through hectic arenas. @gregkubik_dp did an great job on BCAM and found great angles all night and thrived in the adverse conditions with us. @james.gilardii our local PA stepped up big time and huffed the battery backpack all over State College with us and learned to operate the insta360’s and GoPros in a single day. If you’re looking for support in the area with hustle and determination, James is your guy. @aaronmendezfilms DP’d the first of the two shoots at Oregon and USC and crushed it on the movi all while also creating amazing shots on the insta360’s and GoPros. I can’t thank you enough for mentoring me and trusting me to DP this one. That’s my big bro right there. I could go off on a wild tangent but let’s just say this was a full circle moment. 6 years ago I had no camera credits to my name and was out of a coordinator job and needed help transitioning. Mendez not only picked up the phone, but sat down with me for lunch for a pep talk, and then got me out to camera pa on my first few jobs. Let’s just say we’ve crushed it ever since collaborating together.

35mm Film of the Rattie Tatties Roadtrip 🐀 to Taos What a trip, what a gang. Surreal moments getting to see Mesa Rats on the big screen for the first time with the hometown crowd full of friends and family. Hoping to have more screenings around the country with more of you. Big thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. New film from the Canon AE-1 is feeling so good. The first frame was some sort of happy accident, I still don’t know how we got that smear effect. It was a shot in the middle of the roll 🤷‍♂️
