Final shots of my mural for @longbeachwalls_artrenzei . Roughly 20x45, completed with house paint, brushes, and rollers across about five working days.

After many years as a studio painter, learning to work big like this has been a challenge. I’ve felt like I’ve been catching my stride more and more with it over the past couple of years, though- and man oh man is it gratifying to see your work at scale like this. It’s a super different process than how I work in my studio, and the contrast is refreshing

Absolutely massive thank you to all of the organizers, photographers, volunteers, gallery, and of course Renaissance High School in Long Beach where this bear will spend his days. Also a big thank you to all of the other artists- many of whom i had never met before- who I can now call friends. 🐻
Behind the scenes of how I put together animal portraits, from sketch to finished piece. This is a smaller one, only 5", which I do rarely-- but a good example of building a painting bit by bit. Bonus image of what my palette looks like when I'm finished!

Acrylic on wood panel. Waitlist on my site if you want your own 🐶🐱
Last year I painted this mural comp as an option for a project that ended up choosing a different design, but I'm still dying to paint it somewhere. Anyone want a very large chair on your building? Maybe you've got a furniture store, maybe you just really like chairs (like I do). Colors and shapes are all adjustable/negotiable.
.
I'm scheduling out my travel season and will be all over the place this year-- regardless of your city, get in contact with me if you'd like to chat about it!
I’ve got a stack of these mod shaped panels around- it felt like an eye was the right move for the shape
