FIDA EPE PARTICIPATES IN PROJECT EMPOWER 2.0: LIGHTS, CAMERA, TRANSFORMATION! ✨ 🎬
FIDA Nigeria, Epe Branch is proud to have participated in an immersive cinematography bootcamp organized by the Care4Her Initiative, an NGO bridging the gender gap by empowering women with requisite skills.
The branch was represented by the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Iboroakam Akai and a member of the Litigation/ Publicity committee, Idia Muogilim. For 5 impactful days in April 2026, the Care4Her Initiative @c4her_initiative brought together passionate women in Lagos, Nigeria. The results? Nothing short of inspiring!
This experience was part of activities marking the International Day for Girls in ICT (celebrated every April 23)— a day that highlights the importance of empowering girls and women through technology.
From understanding the full film production process to mastering camera work, lighting techniques and video editing, participants didn’t just learn, they created. 💡📹
For us at FIDA Epe, this training goes beyond cinematography. It strengthens our work in:
📖 Storytelling for advocacy
📸 Better photography and visual documentation
📢 Strategic brand management and communication
Each day blended hands-on practice with expert-led sessions, covering everything from storytelling and composition to advanced lighting setups and post-production tools.
But beyond the technical skills, something deeper was built:

The bootcamp wrapped up with a powerful panel session, certificate presentations and a renewed sense of purpose for every participant.
