It’s been almost a month since our little home away from home shut it’s doors for good. 2024 has been an extremely challenging year for me but the one constant I had was The Moon, a safe space for all to distract themselves from any horror they might be facing. I wanted to share some of my favourite memories from The Moon over the years, it was so insanely hard picking 10 clips to sum up the best job I ever had, enjoy x 1. The last Moon night out, we played mario kart on the bar and drank too much limoncello. 2. @nigel_band absolutely fumbling the New Year’s Eve countdown a couple years back. 3. Karaoke with my long lost brother @frankie__parris 4. @howlatthemooncardiff was full so we decided to perform to Womanby Street instead. 5. It wouldn’t be a Connor post without these 2 would it? ❤️💙 6. Easily my favourite club night to work @mkultra_events - the best part was turning the lights up and seeing everyone covered in UV lipstick, you animals. 7. Possibly my favourite band I’ve ever booked? @punchlovemusic performing to a full room for their first time in Cardiff. 8. A rare clothed @spit_hood 9. @the.blunders.band again one of our favourites brought to you by @detonationcymru 10. One of the first times I saw @wearehalfhappy - should’ve been more of you there tbh local legends. Hopefully you looked through those and had a giggle or a smile. I’d like to remind you that myself and @edtownendcdf have set up a fundraiser for the staff at The Moon, we’ve got 3 days left and we’d really appreciate any help you can give during this difficult time of year. I’d also like to remind you that any money raised will NOT be in place of redundancy pay, this is a separate fund to help the staff over the Yule period. Ed’s also been a gem and put together a live album of songs recorded at The Moon, treat yourself to some memorabilia. Thank you all, 🌙 C x

Adam Walton also paid tribute and asked us to pick 3 songs for his BBC Radio Wales show. As a venue of 7.5 years and thousands of musicians, we opted for venue-related songs, so it wouldn’t be like choosing our favourite children 😅🫣 The tribute, songs + message from us are approx 44 mins in on iPlayer (🔗in bio) if you fancy a total cry fest, but tbh the show is always sublime so you may as well stick on the whole thing : ) Thank you Adam for always championing music from Wales alongside your colleagues like Bethan, Aleighcia etc. We loved discovering artists on your show to book, it was always so exciting and you’re a total inspiration❤️✊🫡
