Today is my brother Caleb’s 19th birthday. Unfortunately, he’s not here to celebrate because he passed away two years ago in a tragic car accident.
Grief has been an interesting experience, but God gives grace for the journey.
A couple weeks ago, I picked up songwriting again as a form of therapy, and I wrote this about him.

From grief and unexpected transitions, the last two years have stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, BUT GOD
Now this is far from a sympathy post… more of a testimony of Gods faithfulness over the last couple of years
This is your reminder that everyone is fighting some type of battle that may not always be visible
Grateful for real community and a God who always shows up ❤️

I recently got convicted in a therapy session (shoutout to JoJo) about not fully showing up as myself in places that God has called me to & how that falls into being a poor steward (whew).
There’s a lot of great things that God has blessed me with and given me the opportunity to lead + steward over & what a disservice to Him by playing it safe.
So…. Here’s to moving #FORWARD & taking up my space. And again… Welcome to my world in real life 🫶🏾

I just kept thinking about Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, and how all distractions loose power if I have focus!
