Itās time for my Mozart era!!!
Was on stage a few hours ago at @metopera closing our run of INNOCENCE, and Iāll be at @laopera in a few hours to begin rehearsals for DIE ZAUBERFLĆTE. šµāš«š
It has been a season of dreams at the Met, and Iām soooo grateful to all of the audiences. Iāll have more to share in the coming days as I begin to process just how much this season has meant. But now itās time to put the contemporary opera scores down for a little bit and focus on some classic Mozart.
Grateful for all of these fabulous projects in my schedule and maybe Iāll actually sleep soon⦠maybe?!? š¤£š¤£ See you in LA!

On stage now at the Met, Kaija Saariahoās Innocence follows a group of guests at a wedding as they wrestle with their connections to a devastating school shooting a decade earlier.
In this clip from the final dress rehearsal, the Bride, sung by @jacquelynstucker , confronts her Bridegroom, sung by Miles Mykkanen (@themilesshow ), when she learns that his brother committed the horrible crime.
Innocence is on stage through April 29, with Maestro @malkkiconductor leading an acclaimed production by @simonandrewstone .

Die Zauberflƶte in London next winter!! After a season immersed in 21st-century rep, Iām ready to step into my Mozart era. ššŖš¦šš
It is (quite literally) a dream come true to sing Tamino at Covent Garden in David McVicarās iconic production. Iāll be performing alongside Elena Villalón, Mikhail Timoshenko, Aleksandra Olczyk, and Adam Palma, under the baton of Dalia Stasevska.
Iām deeply grateful to be entrusted with this repertoire at Londonās Royal Ballet and Opera. I sang Papageno for my college auditions (back when I was a baritone!) and Tamino has since become one of my favorite roles to sing.

This is a piece that doesnāt let us hide ā as artists or as human beings. Innocence is one of the most difficult scores (and heaviest subjects) Iāve ever performed, but I have been buoyed by an amazing team, led by Susanna MƤlkki and Simon Stone, alongside this singular cast. It is an immense honor to bring Kaija Saariahoās masterwork to New Yorkās audiences ā and I hope Iām making all my Finnish ancestors proud!!
P.S. There is a free live audio stream of the show tonight ā link in my Stories!

I canāt believe the day has come to close this chapter on The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. š„ŗ Iām not ready to say goodbye to this incredible cast and team.
Sam demanded everything ā vocally, emotionally, physically, spiritually ā and gave even more back to me. To bring all of his dreams and vulnerabilities to our @metopera audiences this season has been an overwhelming honor, with memories I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life.
Creating this role alongside this extraordinary group of artists has been a dream come true. Thank you Mason and Gene for this score, Michael Chabon for this timeless story, and especially Bartlett Sher for leading this magical, unforgettable production.
Tonightās show is going to be electric. Closing the book⦠for now.
Until our next amazing adventure, Sammy. ā¤ļø

āEvery day, artists need to ask themselves, āHow do we find meaning in what weāre doing, in the art weāre producing and the performances weāre giving?āā
Performing the role of Nikolaus Sprinkāan opera singer sent to the frontlines of WWIāis an opportunity for tenor Miles Mykkanen to reflect on the power of art to transform.
