At the UK Asian Film Festival, we present a compelling documentary showcase that brings together three powerful stories under the 2026 festival theme: ‘Stories That Bind Us’ 🗓️ Sunday, 3 May | 2PM | 📍The Garden Cinema, London 🌿 Friends of Jilipibala traces a child’s bond with nature in South Kolkata, revealing a fragile ecosystem under threat. 🎤 W.R.A.P (We Really Are Pakistan) captures Karachi’s youth using rap as a voice of resistance and self-definition. 🌀 Edavela_Stillness journeys inward, exploring breath, emotion, and artistic awakening. Introduced and Moderated by Anita Horam Together, these films form a layered meditation on listening, to nature, to marginalized voices, and to the self-offering a poetic reflection on resilience, creativity, and the urgent need to hold space in a rapidly changing world. 🎟️ Limited tickets – book now! Mamun: In Praise of Shadows is not just a documentary—it’s a journey into the mind and magic of Nasir Ali Mamun, whose portraits capture the soul of a nation and beyond. Directed by Makbul Chowdhury, the film blends cinema and still imagery to reveal the emotion, philosophy, and quiet power behind his work—where every face tells a story. 🎬 Followed by Q&A with Makbul Chowdhry, moderated by Anita Horam 📍 The Garden Cinema 🗓️ Sun, 3 May | 4:20 PM 🎟️ Book your tickets now — link in bio. #MamunInPraiseOfShadows #UKAFF2026 #Documentary #ToF StoriesThatBindUs [Art and Cinema, Photography, Nasir Ali Mamun, Humanity and History, UK Asian Film Festival 2026]

Over the past few days I haven’t posted any stories… Congratulations Dr Rennie Joyy 💐👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿👏🏽👏🏻 A memorable opening at Anand Gallery, where Mamta Singhania has created one of the nicest private gallery spaces in Delhi It was great to spend some valuable time with art connoisseur and @kochibiennale advisory council member @shefalivarma.official at her ambitious art site 😊 Always heartening to meet Nidhi Jain; simple and grounded as well as Rajneesh and family, where one of my favourite works is on view. Met wonderful people from Ladakh-exciting to hear they’re planning a Biennale. Wow. Meaningful conversations around projects at Gallery STIR with Amit Gupta. A beautiful long conversation at Ragini Gallery; truly special. Yesterday’s conversation there and today’s inauguration felt complete. A wonderful moderated conversation with Gigi Scaria, led by Ina Puri. If you’re in Delhi, please do visit Travancore Palace-from tomorrow, 11 am onwards. Only for three days. Tomorrow: Mathrubhumi Literature Festival of Letters and Loka Kerala Sabha in Thiruvananthapuram. Looking forward to the brunch gathering (12–3 pm, 4th Feb), Rohit Chawla’s portraits of artists and art-world friends, a curated material- and textile-based show, and Shimul Javeri’s travelling pavilion project. I’d love for you to see my pavilion too 🙌🏾 More meetings ahead—before heading to Jitish Kallat at Bikaner House and Kiran Nadar Museum of Art on the 4th at 6 pm for the Tyeb Mehta opening 🙌🏾 More travel soon. Lots more ahead. Lots of love.
