It has been really special to share these new works in my home state of Virginia where I first started painting 30 years ago.
Many things have changed since then, yet in another way, it feels like I am basically still doing the same thing. Painting has remained a wonderfully unsolvable and expansive puzzle. I’m grateful to have this pursuit in my life and to have the chance to share my work.

Reynolds Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Teenage Poems, a solo exhibition of all new paintings by Matt Phillips. The exhibition opens on Friday, November 14, 2025 with a public reception from 5 - 7 pm. The show runs through December 23.
