As many of you know I love working with places that are dear to my heart & that support our communities in all the ways.
For nearly three decades, Jitters has been more than just a café. Since the early ’90s, Jitters has been a gathering spot for locals—where friends meet, artists perform, and time feels a little slower. Jitters is known as the oldest running coffee shop in Oceanside, and over the years, it's become a place where stories are told over cappuccinos and ideas are born over bold vegan bites.
2025 Has Been A Year… So Fun & Full Adventure, Hard Work & A Lot Of Leaning Into Newness and Uncertainty. We Look Forward To Ending This Blessed Year & Jumping Into A Bright New Year With Drive & Wanderlust For An Abundant and Magical 2026! Cheers To All Of You 🥂 🎄🎁💚🤍❤️☕️
#happybirthday @ballewglass I love you to the moon and back!! You are my best friend, husband, barista, barrelista, coffee roaster and travel copilot I’m so grateful for you and this life we live. Cheers to another amazing year around the Sun! #loveyou
This week on @sandiegomag ’s Happy Half Hour podcast, co-hosts Troy Johnson and Jackie Bryant sit down with Grammy-winning artist @jason_mraz and @jitterscoffeepub owner Vallie Gilley (@themasterbaker ) to talk about Jitter’s new chapter.
Jitters was the first coffee shop in Oceanside; it opened back in the ’90s. And Gilley and her husband were finally ready to let it go after 24 years of managing the business.
That’s when Mraz, a longtime regular and friend of Gilley, stepped in as a partner.
What followed is a full-circle revamp, complete with vegan comfort food from chef Felix Alcaide, a tiny new stage for live music nights, and a gold-plated bathroom.
Tune in to hear all the gilded details of the revived Jitters Coffee Pub. Link in bio, or visit sdmag.com/hhh.
