@cottonandblueandblueco and @foragerfabrics have fully settled into Project: Pop-Up Wakefield and @themakermart is everything we hoped it would be when we saw their application cross our desks.
This pop-up is packed with products from local makers (many of which are members of @theretailplayground 🎉) and a growing workshop calendar. This is a destination wroth making a trip for.
Don't miss their upcoming workshop on May 8th: Linocut Block Printing with @thegoldenfoxxe

SO EXCITED about this new organic cotton yarn dyed double gauze!!! (And it’s here just in time for spring!!) 🌸🌷🌼🍃
Double gauze is like wearing a cloud. Soft, pillowy, crinkly goodness! Perfect for floaty dresses, tops, skirts and all things spring/summer! (It’s one of my favorites, can you tell?! 🤪)
You’ll find this in-store and on the web. 🫶

Have you seen the vintage quilt scrap bin that we have at The Maker Mart?! There are some real gems in there, and you might be surprised with what you can make with them!
I had just enough to make this side tie top (pattern by @bystephtime !).
I also used bias tape from @craftsuppliesandkits (which we also have at the shop!).
If you’ve bought a quilt scrap, we’d love to see what you made with it! 💕

Such a fun art form!! You can do so much with it!
While the methods for creating and printing your very own stamp is similar, the material used certainly isn’t. Linoleum is a harder material to carve, but the payoff is well worth it. Though extra care needs to be taken, you will be rewarded with more detail in your prints than rubber can provide.
In this class, students will draw out and carve their own linoleum block or “linocut” to create prints from. We will cover how to carve, safety methods, materials, and then make some prints together. All materials are provided, however you may find thinking about or sketching out some ideas before coming to be helpful. We will be working on a piece of 4x6 linoleum.
